He is a lovely person to be around, too: polite and considerate. His tail is a concern, although Terre's was also a bit smutty and her moult cleaned it up. He's five months younger than the hens, and has a ways to go to his full adult plumage.

Hmmm well now there's an idea for you!! We don't worry too much about rain here, even in the winter!! But, they may sell like HOT CAKES over there!!
There was an article in Mother Earth (or was it Hobby Farms?) about building a warming hut for baby goats & lambs.
It involved a 55 gallon drum, or even a 25 gallon one...hang a heat lamp inside, and cut a hole only the baby can get in.
