On the other hand, there is so much in the Universe that we know exists but it cannot be explained scientifically. To only believe in things that can be scientifically explained sounds hopeless to me

How do you scientifically explain emotion? How do you explain people doing extraordinary things because they follow their hearts, not just their heads. If you don't believe in the existence of a soul then what is the purpose of our existence?

I suppose I can't really get into this further since I have no science to back me up and this can end up being a very debatable subject and I'm not exactly so philosophical that I am qualified to go on so thats all I'm going to say. It's just that your post was very sad to me.

There are certainly a huge amount of unexplained things in our universe - and someday we may have the answers to them - or not.

Soul - I don't know. Sometimes when I see a spectacular sunrise I think soul, or when I hear a wonderful pieceof music. I don't know if it means soul, or something entirely different.

I'm reading a book right now called "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins. Very interesting.

My issue with "Soul", is where does it come from? How does it get into me. Do evil persons not have one?

Yes CGG - too many philosophical questions and not enough answers. But don't feel sad - even if I really don't have a soul, I'm a rather nice, caring person
