Wow, where was the night crew?
It was so easy to catch up with the over night posts.
Ogress good to see you finally get on here!
Hope the Fluey-Snotty-coldey thing has passed.
I used to hate that when my kids were little, seemed we would just pass it back & forth forth for months, as soon as I would get better, the kids would give it back to me and they'd get better.

So the talking heads say we will not get the break from the rain which we got yesterday..........and that it will rain non stop today.
And outside the sky is clear & no rain in sight, AND what break yesterday are they referring to?
It rained cows & horses all day yesterday from overnight to when we went to bed.
It was blowing, and raining so hard it was difficult driving and so much standing water on the road.

I am making a Gumbo...and trying to figure out how to buy just 2 Okras to put in it...hate to buy a bag of frozen & have it sit for so long as I only use 2 to 4 Okras a year

We also got to look over stock windows at HD, and none of their stock off the shelf windows have lites............darn it, so we will have to order them, which will be a "special order"

Ya, It was suppose to be windy and rainy today but the NOAA website says No wind and 50% chance of rain for my area. And there was no break for us yesterday either. My tried and true way of knowing the weather is to get up and look out the window!

North Bend has an Alpine Window and door outlet - odd sizes are cheap, but a pain in the butt to frame for. They also have a trailer full of standard size, and a warehouse full of stuff and can order just about anything.

sounds like you live next door - same weather here!

If we go to a place like that, we have to buy all our windows now, so I can then draw the blueprints & then we can frame.
If I find standard sizes, off the rack so to speak, I can draw the prints now, and we can begin framing.
Trying to find standard sizes to avoid the special order fees............but the Alpine place sounds great, they have a web site?
maybe worth a trip to go see the place..and stop in to bug you too!!

and if you can get your MD or PT to PRESCRIBE it .....

actually I used to go to the playground and hang by my knees from the trapeze bar, and if the back really got bad, I found that doing a bit of walking on crutches -- the RIGHT way, which is keeping all the weight on your hands, none on your armpits -- would "pull" my back out straight so the pain was lessened

yes, chicken keeping seems to require a lot of bending, stooping, lifting, and swiveling -- gives your back quite a workout

the lyrics from "Do the Hucklebuck" keep running through my mind ...

"start a little movement in your sacroiliac .. wiggle like a snake, waddle like a duck .... "

Right on man!!!

Bacchus eats moss, it's one of his more admirable traits.

I'm having another slowed-down day; yesterday's lack-of-energy has, today, been revealed as the starting move of another nasty head cold. I feel stupid and useless and generally unable to do what needs done, never a good way to feel but worse when it's the result of having to blow my nose every ten seconds.

I was restless, so I went out and got soaked.

I used up my good weather today retrieving my sister's pocket knife out of the pasture, and am now wishing hard I owned a pair of waders so I could do all the wet and messy outdoor work I had planned. I may just tailor an ad hoc rainsuit out of garbage bags, or something.
