That looks just like mine. I got her from a breeder. She is beautiful, but a total spaz! I love her! Her feathers have that iridescent green in them when she is out in the sun.

a sad start to the day, somehow my new turkeys (3) managed to get out of the cage they were in and decided to try and make a run for it, DK luckily saw one and I had to dig around in the shaving a bit but I found the other two. Sadly one was dead when I got to it and the other was gasping for air. For the last few hours I have tried to figure out how to save this poor thing and it looks as though I won't actually have to do anything! I just went and checked on him again and he is able to hold his head up and drink and eat! I am so excited he is going to make it but now I wonder if I will actually be able to make thanksgiving dinner out of him after all I went through emotionally to bring him back from the edge..... As far as the lil turkey that DK spotted? he is doing fine, not a worry in the world.

Babies!!

We just got home with our little chicklets. They are so cute and fluffy. The kids are just sitting there staring at them (hey, no fighting - I like it!). We ended up with an Alcona, Ameraucana & Barred Rock...I think. Let the adventure begin...

Took my two remaining runner ducklings to my grandson's school on Thursday. I was a little worried that it would be too hard on them, but they seemed relaxed and held up well. I was amazed at how clever the teachers can be getting the kids to observe and ask questions (and at how thoughtful the students can be). Made me feel that the trip was well worthwhile.

T Hi - AREN'T our ducklings growing quickly???! I had forgotten how fast they grow up. Guess I'm going to have to get some new pics tomorrow.

So don't know if any of you thought I was crazy when I posted the new baby pics and said I had two black and two blue, cuz I'm really thinking that the two I kept aren't blue (but maybe lavender, silver or splash?). They seem to be getting paler and paler every day. The drake is a blue Runner and the ducks are a blue (going prematurely white) and a saxony Runner. I'm thinking that I would have expected a ratio of 1 black/2 blue/1 splash -- but know those are just the odds of an outcome. Anybody have a guess on these? Oh yeah, and it's an excuse to get my cutie pie grandson posted too I guess.
