There are always quite a few advertised on Craigslist. Some even offer to deliver.

SF: We have had this new high speed fiber optic line installed under ground just about 2 years ago or so.
It is monsterously large, in expectations of someday having people live out here (besides us) the cable being the size of my fore arm !
And of course they insist it could not be them, but I must say they are lickty split fast sending out a repair dude who can test it all from both ends.
I believe the problem we have is the spur, which seems it would be illegal even, goes to 3 homes before it gets to us, and we are the end.
Why we do not have our own line (like phones & power) I do not know, but maybe if I complain enough, which I have not, they might do something about it.

The finally talk with Toni was the last timer test:

Will the washer spin in any other cycle ?

She texted back: no

So that seals it, it is NOT the timer (fried in the regular wash cycle) it is sending a signal to the transmission & the tranny is dead, not moving except in agitate cycle.
Looks like T needs a new/used washer...anyone have one ?

Sad morning... Woke up to find one of my Rhode Island Red Chicks passed away in the night.

. I just got them in the mail yesterday morning so I wasnt attatched but still sad.... I guess 1 out of 25 chicks isnt bad tho...

sorry for your loss. It is hard. I take them all personally.

Teresa can you read that e-mail ?
Kinda went sideways on 1 scan....a really good article for newbies, easy to understand.

Ok got the Toni washer issue going Ok, it is the timer (going through the process of elimination)
DH said for her to get the make/model & call an appliance/repair place & order a new one and we will get up there to install it.
Need a good road trip every now ...and will stop to see TotalColour as well.
Then next trip is Seattle to RainWolf's & will see FlyRobinFly & Zgoatlady there.
**Sigh!**

OK now DH is going to get me a much needed trailer load of road base rock & I get to shovel it around in mud holes when he gets back...burn off a little fat LOL!

Anyone going to the Puy Sportsman Show ?
I really wann go ?
Clover going ?

Look good...thank you.

Okay wanted to share a photo. DH had just finished a bowl of cereal and there was some milk with cereal goodies in the bottom. I gave it to Bumble to have a few mouthfuls. Here you can see that Pica (the dog) really would like her share - the dog did not get any, she gets enough treats...but I thought it was a funny photo.

Mottled is a pure color & a pure color, Like pure black & pure white.
A splash is a gray/blue & a lighter color, as blue is a dilution of black.
You cannot have a black & white "splash" as a splash is a dilution of the darker color (in this case black)
You can see each feather is a whole color, not spangled or speckled.
This is a Mottled Ameracauna :

thank you. Makes sense. learning lots.

Yay!! the black and white ones look a whole lot like their mama did when she was little! Here's how she turned out:

OH, she looks just like our Martha. Pretty girl. I am glad you saw the photos. When they are relaxed and walking around the box...they look really typey and good...I hope they grow into it. But when I try to take a photo they get all freaked out, squish down...won't stand up. I was thinking of getting some meal worms out for them to eat and see if that would relax them.

Our new Serama chicks from Castle Delights!

One word of warning if you have the Brinsea Brooder and are hatching Serama's. I think they are too small to use this brooder as their only heat source from day 1. I went down there this evening and a couple of them were cheeping their "something is wrong" really loud cheap and they were cold! I had a back up heat lamp hanging over the brooder, but not low enough to keep them warm enough as I assumed the Brinsea Brooder would keep them warm enough. Most standard size chicks would be able to be close enough to the heat source in that to almost touch it. These guys couldn't acutally touch the heat source, were in fact 1-2" away from it. Since it's a radiant heat source, that wasn't good enough! After lowering the regular brooder lamp and warming them all up, they have been fine.

Thank you for this info. I will watch mine. They are in my basement, which is where my furnace is at and it is a nice stable maintained warm down there. I have 24 of Laura's eggs in right now and also I stuck 12 of my black orp eggs in to check if any fertility. I figured worse case scenerio with the orp eggs is that they would work as god hot water bottles...kind of help keep the heat even in there. All the serama eggs are in the middle as this seems to be where it is warmest. I was also concerned about the temp and I placed 2 other thermometers in there to watch it.....all seems to be working good right now, other than my auto rotator died...not the arm it is something internal that the DH has tried to explain to me. I don't understand.
