OK, now that I've read all that I've missed.
Flyingmonkeypoop, I'm sorry you've been having such problems with predators. Yeah, the snow is driving my folks nuts as well. A snowload came off the roof the other day and took a railing out on their back deck. Snapped a 2x4 in half. (Perhaps I DON'T want to inherit their land one day.)
RE: quad. I don't know if he went down Bethel. I know he got our tree in front of "Towne Square" (
I hate that yuppy name. It's just the run-down mini-mall, for goodness sake!) We did go to the Wallmart earlier though.
We were without our mail for over a week, and even now it's a little iffy. And we're just about 4 blocks from the PO!
My DH's jobsite in Seattle closed down for a week and a half. (which, not only drove him crazy, but since I don't start my new prospective job for a month, and have been fighting with UI and haven't gotten any checks.... we canceled Christmas. His gift to me was going to be a trip to see my folks. Instead, he installed the bathtub in our bathroom that I've been waiting on for 5 years. Best gift ever, hands down, though I would've liked to see my folks too.)
I've had chickens ON by back stoop for 4 mornings straight. I've taken to going out alternate routes, as they will walk into the house if I open the back door.
My brother and his wife came to visit! Haven't seen them in a few years. Then, they got me addicted to World of Warcraft. (Just the free trial version. It will suck when it expires on Wednesday, as we can't afford that splurge.)
I had a deep thought yesterday.
"People are like eggs. It doesn't matter what our shell looks like, we all have the same yolk." (I had been thinking about how weird it was that people prefer brown eggs to white eggs when from what I understand, there's no difference in the yolk. )
Here's my blog today:
"So for years I stopped making resolutions. I'd never keep them anyways, so why start them? This year that's my first resolution. Starting this year I will set 10 resolutions. The first two will always be the same.
Resolution 1: Make New Years resolutions.
Resolution 2: Keep them.
Then comes the more creative part. Here's where I really try to get in good.
Resolution 3: Lose 24 pounds this year. That's 2 pounds a month. I should be able to keep that, right?
Resolution 4: Save money.
Resolution 5: Take one school course. Doesn't matter what it is, just do it.
Resolution 6: Keep the kitchen, bathroom, and common room (living room / office) clean 80% of time. So what if it may not be my mess? It's not going to pick up itself.
Resolution 7: Grow a veggie garden and learn to can.
Resolution 8: Give up 25% of our stuff.
Resolution 9: Build the 2 bedrooms in the basement and possibly take in a roommate. Preferably one who either cleans or cooks. LOL)
Resolution 10: Try to listen to my elementary school teachers and "use time wisely". I lose track of time too often and then wonder what happened to the day."
Speaking of which... I gotta go start taking care of #6 which will help me on # 3 and #8.
Forget wishing me luck... PRAY for me. LOL
