Well we still have snow, all the weather people said it wasnt sposed to snow today but it is. Yesterday we had an eagle attack on the pheasants, it killed a silver hen, took an amherst hen, and ripped open an amherst cock. The dogs are getting cabin fever it seems. We used to take them on 2 mile walks every day but since the first snow and below zero temps we havent been able to so they are just going crazy (they are all herding dogs). I am ready to pack up and move south. Whos is with me, we could make a "South Washington" down by the equator

Sorry to hear about the eagle attack. Did you have to put the cock down?

Another storm is on its way... oh goodie.

At least getting to my aunt's for Christmas Eve shouldn't be too hard. I've got such bad cabin fever that the thought of spending a few hours with my extended family isn't that bad any more!

okay, i love the snow! BUT i love the sun even more... i'm with fmp - let's open up a "southern washington"... maybe take over hawaii??? i'd be happy with a "southern washington" county in hawaii. preferably on the island of kauai. after all - i could still visit the snow!!!!!!!

Well that does it. More snow overnight through tommorow and some on christmas with a hint of rain maybe!! We just now postponed Christmas eve at my Aunts till Saturday, Would be nuts to drive in this from Graham to Bothel....

Well the male is getting better, he can walk alot better than the other day. The female I thought was gone showed up so I have all of them back. There are now 2 eagles, I am pretty sure they are gold eagles because I havent ever seen 2 juvenile bald eagles together.
On a brighter note we are now getting 4-6 eggs a day. We were getting like 1 or 2 bantam eggs but now there are a couple big eggs out there from the sumatras which is nice.

How was everyone's Christmas? I got a cd and 2 pheasant books. One of the books has pics which are always bad because I can see the birds and when I see pretty birds I want pretty birds. I learned something new today, the wild coturnix quail are the only birds in the pheasant type family that migrate. I feel almost geeky, I opened gifts at around 6, went and did chores, then came in and have been reading books ever since.
