Tam - Guess I need to learn about moult! There are feathers everywhere! But would that still make her head to the nest every waking moment? I also got a nest full of the most putrid smelling green poo... and did a search, found out that it is common for broodies to pooh green when they aren't eating enough... but that it was normal. Otherwise, she is not lethargic... when I force her out of the nest she is as active and mean as they come!

I am looking forward to her being done with the brood, though... I miss her giant XL yellow eggs! And her smiling face in the yard!

Steven, birds molt every 12-18 months or so to renew their feathers. They stop laying during a molt, but it has nothing to do with being broody. They just lose a lot of feathers, look almost naked for awhile, and then look even funnier when new feathers are growing in. All their engergy goes into growing the new feathers, nothing left in them to produce eggs until it's over.

Chickielady, not sure what killed her. By the time I found her, too late to try much.

Well, the blue ameraucana roo will go to Zgoatlady if I have an extra one. I'm still waiting for it to be obvious who's a boy or girl in there. Course, I could be real "lucky" and end up with 3 boys and only 1 girl. In that case, I'd have an extra if you're still interested then.

Earlier there, I was referring to my black and white EE roo that I'm thinking of rehoming. I'll probably end up with more little roos by the end of summer also as I've been hatching chicks too.

Chehalis is a place I go to a lot so it would be a good mid-point... although from Redmond, it'd be a little further for you. Olympia would be more central.

YES I still have (now 2 confirmed) Silky Roo. AND 6 FBCM Roo's all looking for homes. Some of the FBCM are not for breeding and would probably do best as meaties. I got them from eagle2026 back about Jan 2010 and they were a couple months then.

I am at exit 68 off I-5. The White pass Hwy.

These guys will not be here after saturday unless somebody commits to taking some !!!!

I am in Raymond, not Redmond,, Raymond is just above HWY 6, which runs eastward right into Chehalis, so getting to Chehalis just takes a little while for me.

Hang in there! If you end up going to Seattle, go 15 minutes further and hit Evergreen or Stevens hospital. (They like to give you painkillers at Stevens)
