I was out redoing pens and let them out while she jumped on a rooste. She jumped off in front of me. She just laid there like that and cound not move an inch. I pulled the phone camera out and started snapping and she was real mad at me. I pulled her right out.

Amazing shot girl !!
And wanted to add, a very beautiful hen !
Hopefully you did not have to wash too much mud off her.

Has anyone told you where the breed links are here ?
Purebred Ameracaunas only come in so many colors, and they are bearded birds, always, and always lay a sky blue to a blue -turquoise egg.
But you hang around here, and you will learn.

Edited to add: Just ask ! Everyone can help you here AND please come to the Poultry Shows !

HA HA HA I know what ya mean!
I got 2 trailer loads 4 yards anyways .of rock~~
Road base 2 days ago, and spread it all over.
After the snow melted, all the pea gravel in ALL my pens VANISHED !!!!!!!!
So we are talking..."SUCK THE BOOT RIGHT OFF YER FOOT MUD"...........chookies seemed ok with it....
But yet another reason why I do not have feather footed breeds any more........my LF Cochins had dingle balls of mud on every feather

..........every day!

Do you all recall I told you one of my two year old hens was bothered in the nest and laid an egg from the highest roost? I saw her in the nest late in the afternoon but no egg - and then that night she laid an egg in her sleep.

Well - it happened again. Same hen. But this time, the egg didn't get colored? It's our Jersey Giant - she lays plain brown eggs.

Here's the weird egg, next to a normal brown egg for comparison. This is the second one laid in the middle of the night from the same chicken, but not colored?

Weird. Any thoughts on why? Should I be on the lookout for anything with her?

we did 20 yeard last Sept. and its under poop and yuck now.
