Yes, I have of course tried to scale my own teeth,,, Hee, hee, I have a friend who is a beautician, and she asked me that, and of course I asked her if she cut her own hair. She looked at me, appalled, and said, "Of course not!" CL, name the time and the place and I'll be glad to scale away! Oh, errrrrm, as long as it's in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and it's on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or possibly Thursday before 1 pm. That work for you? Ogress, I just thought of something else we tell patients. If you're having jaw pain, baby the jaw! No especially tough foods to chew, no big fat sandwiches that you have to open real wide to eat, cut everything into small pieces before you put it into your mouth, avoid things like apples that you have to open up wide to bite (or cut into small pieces before you eat the apple). And gum! If you chew gum, stop! Ordinarily gum chewing is fine (sugarless, of course, even better if sweetened with xylitol, but that's another rant), but if you have any kind of jaw issues it's just too much wear and tear on an already-stressed joint. I have seen occasional instances where the only "treatment" needed for jaw pain was cutting out gum chewing... Just a thought.

wow, is that your ALL DAY/ALL NIGHT speed ?
My gets worse all day, goes WAY bad at 3:15 PM (school is out) and gets even worse at 5 PM and goes down to near nothing by 7 PM...then you saw what happens after that.
I do not get it cuz I am the only person on this road !
Well, not the only one, but this is very very rural, way less than your area.

BUT it is not the "line" it is how much band width is available. Kind of like 20 chicks trying to drink at a 6 chick waterer.

yeah it was I, I also am cert in DA, and Anesthesia.......... Zgoatlady was a DA as well.
I suspect our Ogress has bruxism...and it will get very sore !
I can think of nothing else that would help her except maybe a few glasses of wine before bed ?

I have seen alot of my patients crack teeth from bruxism....and tear out fillings & crowns and even bite their tongues very hard during the night.
I have also seen alot constantly spit out the guard in their sleep...but whatever, she needs to see a dental team for evail...before she ends up with cracked teeth or abcessing.

YES not to down play any of this good info. Just passing on info. But several years ago I would clinch my jaw so hard that it would wake me when my teeth "popped" . NOT fun. Since I had no insurance I took the cheap way. I went and bought a sports mouth guard and wore it at night. While I know that is NOT THE CORRECT solution. It did work very well for me. What ever the reason is now gone and I no longer need said device.

It is the reason why I can suture as I do.........just so y'all know.
Suturing is something everyone in rural areas with animals should know, and have in your first aide kit

I have tag
aderm, absorbible hemostat...scalpels....anyone need something removed ?

Nope just need super glue for the parts that need saved and the sharp knife for what can't be glued back in place.
