Yes, you can do this with the pallets. We built one of our coops with them and would do it again if we came across a good deal. We used the pallets as walls, and then used plywood or OSB as the sheathing on the outside to give it some shear strength and to hold it all together. We also used them as our roof structure, and again, covered them with ply and then roofing paper with shingles on top.

Here's a great website showing all kinds of pallet sheds, buildings, etc. Keep scrolling down to see them all: http://summerville-novascotia.com/PalletShed/
Also do a search here on Pallet Coops and you will find a lot of discussions on them.

Wa4-Hpoultrymom's has built pallet coops.
I went to her page to get you a link but time after time it said error so I give up on BYC's software.

I'm sure she will be by eventually and post a link or pictures for you.

You on the right track. Good pallets which you just described are great for building with.

Barnevelders!

Anyone have any eggs, or know of anyone that does - I really want some!

(I have come down with a really common, but totally incurable disease called "Gallus Gallus Domesticus Hatchitus". So, I figure I'd better just let it run it's course.)

ETA, for those who can't translate, the chicken hatching disease!

I only have hens I got from Cowgirlgrace. I think Ogress has some? Also, PinkChick here on BYC has some but she's down south near Vancouver. PinkChick is working on blue laced barnvelders which I would love to see!
