My hatch is complete. Six of seven eggs hatched. One quit shortly before hatch. Of the six that hatched, one seems to have issues. it's feet were curled. I've taped them straight, but I've yet to see it stand up all the way. Judging from the stripes on their backs, the five vigorous ones are Spitz/Brabanter crosses. It will be interesting to see how they develop.

I candle the eggs I have in my new incubator. and saw one has veins and something moving.
I put all the eggs that my broody was sitting on when I put the Marans in. I'll be candling them again at 10 days and if I don't see any bouncing chicks I am tossing them. I am running the incubator just in case. I really want these cuckoo Marans.

If they aren't clear, don't toss them!!! You may not see bouncy chicks, and they will be viable. Look for the air sack ring, and a dark shape, I wouldn't toss anything unless I could pretty much see right through it, then it would be a yoker. I almost did that on my very first hatch cause I couldn't see anything moving, and out of 15 eggs 14 hatched!!! So at 10 days if they aren't absolutely clear, keep them, cause you just never know!! And good luck!!

I'm kinda with chickie, I don't like taking drugs either, but, there was a time when I had to take stuff, so I could function. I don't need to any more, but sometimes, to get back on your feet you need to. And yea, you see all those drug commercials and one actually said that! May cause cancer!! REALLY?? We will help with this disease but we will give you another!!??

Well, after yesterdays blustery day it's now over cast and quiet so I just might be able to clean the coops today!
So I'm really bummed, TCM is playing "The Hanging Tree" With Gary Cooper and Karl Malden and I don't have satellite!!

It's was filmed entirely just north of Naches in 59! It isn't out on DVD!! Dang it Jim!! LOL!! I don't even know anyone with a dvd recorder to record it for me!!! Last time it was on was July of last year!! Anyway, well, maybe by the time it's on again I will have satellite, cause I HAVE a dvd recorder and by God I WILL record it!! LOL!!
When I saw a PBS special on Cooper they said he had filmed something in Yakima, didn't say which movie, so I googled it and went to TCM you can sign up for reminders of when a movie will be on again, and they just sent me the email!!
So if any one cares to watch it's on at 10:15 pm et tonight, filmed entirely in Eastern WA.!

I have to research this drug.I hate taking any drugs at all !

Hate it !!!

I will not even take pain meds after surgery or when I tore all my ligaments outta my knee.

I do not like being "fuzzy headed" and not in control of me.

Even cold meds bother me..that horrible "being in a fish bowl" feeling..yuck.

But I am researching this drug to see what it is

your better off taking them, they list lots of side effects for everything on the market, my drugs, side effect is cancer amongst other things. odds are slim. I would rather be normal that terrified of medication. whats funny is the one drug is used to cure cancer, but its side effect is another cancer lol

yes that is the one I take, the benefits of a normal life outweigh the risks that I might get cancer, and its an easy curable cancer. not that any are easy but its not a death sentence. without it I dont have a life other than lay in bed in pain all day. I will take the drugs

Good Morning Washingtonians!
Glad to hear CL you don't have some horrible outrageous lurgy and that it is controllable.

I finally finished getting all my tax paperwork together so will be hustling off to the UPS store soon to mail it. I usually get it done earlier than this, but somehow, this winter just got me dragging (like a lot of other folk, I know).

So, tonight we put a bunch of duck eggs into lock-down - Anconas for ChristineR {are you taking note Christine?}

The next batches (chickens) go in on 30th, then April 4th, and not sure about the rest of the ducks eggs and goose eggs.

And it's a gorgeous day out - lovely and sunny, but a bit of a chill still. So, after my town sojourn, I have to bag and freeze a bunch of rabbits.

Oh, and you should see the coyote pelt - well, not yet, but once it's finished tanning, hubby did a good job of skinning him.

Got my appointment with the doc tomorrow to find out about my shoulder {ugh}
