now I have a question to anyone who may know the answer....anyone...including you...

QUESTION:
#1 Why is this stupid cat in my lap again?

#2 Oh wait, that was not the real question, here ya' go:

I have a hen who is laying a "fart egg" on a regular basis...about everyother day. Why is this? They are fed layer and have oyster shells at their disposal. Why would she be doing this? Also, I think I need to put a light back in ..... NO ONE is laying...except my seramas.

Thank you all for listening to my weirdness...now I am going to go and make another cup of tea.

So I've been chomping at the bit. Can't wait any longer. The Brinsea is warming up. I'm going to set that lone silver Ameraucana egg tonight. (Lone, silver? If it's a cockerel I think we should name it Ranger). Then tomorrow morning I'm picking up more eggs from zgoatlady just to keep the solitary egg company. I was really hoping I'd get some more Ameraucana eggs this past week from my gf's new silver, but she's been stubborn and not laid at all. I was looking forward to some Ameraucana chicks. I blame FlyRobinFly for showing us her cute blue babies.

Actually, I just want more babies in the house. But these aren't for me. I'm not keeping these. I'm sending them to my girlfriend's house. Seriously. I'm not keeping any of them. I mean it.
LOL, that's what BYC friends are for, right?

Yeah, Dana, just you wait until Khemosabi hatches!

Hey chicken peeps... I have a question... My daughters EE Falcon is about 28 weeks old and still not laying? Should I be worried? I got a soft shell egg about 6 weeks ago and one that was pale almost pink but I dunno it it was from her or one of my other girls. Normally all my eggs are light to med brown. Sometimes with white speckles. My other girls all layed before 20 weeks they are RIR and BO. Maybe its just the weather?

My EEs took quite a while to lay, and from some of the threads on here, it seems to be normal for them.

I finally got out to visit my friend with the brain tumor. They released her from the hospital a few days ago. I'm shocked, stunned. Her doctors/insurance company will be recieving a few calls. She lives alone and cannot even stand up by herself! She has friends and neighbors taking turns staying with her and helping her with everything. In the middle of the night she got up to use the toilet and did not wake the person staying over; she toppled over and landed upside-down in the bath tub! She has thrush from all the antibiotics they pumped her full of and a severe rash over her entire body. She is puffy, hot, red, in severe pain, and so heavily drugged that she was not even coherent when they sent a physical therapist over to work with her today. It was the therapists first visit. The therapist was asking her questions that seemed to imply she was like this BEFORE the surgery, that the weakness was caused by her lupus and fibromyalgia. I let the therapist know this is one of the strongest women I know - she remodeled her own home by herself - heavy work too, new kitchen and deck too, and she did it all herself. She has an amazing garden too. She is not someone to sit around and feel sorry for herself.

I was trying to help her out a bit and was shocked because after only 3 weeks, she has almost no muscle tone. She should not be home. She should be in rehab until she is strong enough to walk to the bathroom on her own. The therapist said she will need to learn how to use a walker, but expects it will take weeks for her insurance to approve one. I am going to go to the senior center and see if I can locate one. I have already found a commode with arms that fits over the toilet so that she will have something to steady herself on.

Why would they let someone in that condition go home? They put big yellow bands on her arm that say "FALL RISK" and they sent her home with NO AID!

Why is it that we value $$$ over lives? This is cruel!

So sorry to hear about your friend. All too often those who make the decisions have no clue.
Check with COPES or Catholic Chore Services. TO try to get her some help.
