Kinda spendy?? Still haven't figured out what I'm doing!! Terry is changing positions at work, he will be in the yard now, not necessarily in the truck anymore, better hours, and a more consistent time schedule, and actually time off! Instead of being called in on his day off! But, that means he changes days off too!!

Yes it is, I might not be doing that this year, I can buy more eggs with the money.. Maybe I"ll just make it a day and leave really early.

I have six chicks, now 4 1/2 weeks old. They're still in a Rubbermaid tub, inside a shed. It's not the greatest setup for them, but I think they still have a reasonable amount of room - for now.

I have a small coop...it's about 3x4? with a little same-sized run underneath. The problem with is that it's very heavy (difficult to move) and nearly impossible to clean under. So I don't think I can have six chicks in there for a month or more. When we can sex them, then I'll cut back to 2-3 birds. They'll stay in the mini coop until they're closer to the size of the others. My black sex link (AKA Lucy) was not full-sized when she joined the others, so I'm hoping these new ones won't have to be fully grown either. But yes, they have a while to go. I'm just trying to figure out the best interim place for them.

I have three chicks pipping, my husbands great idea to hatch more blrw cross for egg layers!!!

That's ok, he can get rid of them when they turn out to be cockerels!! LOL!

"fart eggs" are eggs without shells. They have the membrane though, holds them together. At least this is what I call them. I think "fart eggs" may be a number of different things though. Mine have layer, oyster shells and only have scratch when I throw it to them once a day...and a minimal amount. You can actually go and BYC search fart eggs and see photos. very odd looking.

Fart eggs are eggs with shells that a young pullet just begins to lay.
More often than not, the egg holds no yolk.
fart eggs can come in all sorts of bizarre sizes & shapes, and it all has to do with a pullet just beginning lay.
They all have shells, just weirdly shaped.

Eggs with no shells are a diferent matter altogether.

Edited to add a pic of a fart egg:

So blurry, same egg:

In a Tablespoon.
I have had fart eggs shaped like a cresent moon, completely round, but all have been small...the pullet is "tight" and just beginning lay.
