I did book a trip to Cabo for the first weekend in June for DH and I to celebrate our 20th anniversary!!!! It cannot come fast enough!!!!

Spent the morning at our Poultry Judging Contest for the Snohomish County 4-H Poultry Program. Found out some distressing news. Apparantly, King County is doing away with 4-H at the end of the 4-H year which is Sept 29th. As of now, if you have a King County address, those kids are unable to enroll in 4-H for next year. We are hoping and praying that the find a resolution in this and let the kids enroll in another county for next year. We have a huge 4-H club in Duvall that would just be gone, as well as a huge Homing Pigeon Club in Woodinville.

That is unfortunate about 4-H, disappointing that an educational and positive program for youth is going away, and I do hope those members will be able to join another county's clubs!

yeah, wear the correct shoes, no flip flops, we were not meant to walk flat footed, we were meant to walk on the ball of the foot.
Like look at a dog's or cat's foot.
It does indeed hurt like heck !!
Immobilizes !
I had achilles tendenosis, way far past tendonitis....and doc was talking surgery & taking a tendon from elsewhere to put in & scrape the achilles to take the adhesion off...was like a walnut on the hell which moved up & down as the tendon did,,,hurt BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then I fell & ripped several tendons out of my knee (November) and within days...my achilles tendons were perfect..............was the immobilizer boot they made me wear toes to hip...

That and finally my immunal system had other things to chew on.

I've had it ever since I got off bed-rest when I was preggo with DD. I think 5 months of not even being allowed to stand up shortened the thing. It used to be so painful I feared every step. Now I just fear the first 5 minutes I am up each morning. I never know if the pain is going to be intense enough to cause tears as I hobble to the bathroom, or if I can just get up and go. In a few minutes it is usually fine for the day unless I sit for a long time.

On another note: I am sure you may have seen it on TV.....someone (2 at least) broke into our high school and TRASHED it. They are figuring soime 200,000 worth of damage. I have a friend who works for a local window/glass company. they had an order to replace 65 windows. Trashed the principals office, the counselor's office and at least one teacher (many did not like her). the broke/stole many computers, TVs. Destroyed all the pop machines in the commons, a giant TV that was in the commons that held high school stuff on it. itis just awful. Many kids are feeling devestated and violated.

Hi folks and welcome to all the new people!!! I think all this foul weather is keeping people inside and they are finding us!!!

Had a small hatch yesterday of 2 blue/2 black Ameraucana's. Have one more Bantam Cochin slowly working at it. Have a huge hatch scheduled for the 8th too.

Spring break is this week for the kids. We don't have anything planned and they are bored already!!!! How can that be?!?!? It will be a long week........

Got the big garden bed tilled last weekend and got some peas and lettuces planted. Had hoped to get more in this week but all I want to do is crawl under the covers!!!

Had the CT Scan of my neck on Wednesday and am hoping to hear from my dr on Monday. Although funnily enough, the shoulder pain, has almost gone away!!! Not gone completely, but oh so much better than it was the week before when I finally went into the dr. Oh well.

Anyway, that is about all that is new here! Hope everyone is doing ok. Have we heard from RonB lately? I PM'd with him a day or two after his surgery and he was already going stir crazy!!! Hope everyone is dong well!!!

For some reason today I am so cold & unable to warm up...ever been like that ? (I am just frizin!)

Sing it girly! We were told we would be "indoors" for today. Well we were in an open barn. No heat and the wind was not kind. We were there from 7 this am to 5:30. Now that we are home and have had dinner and taken care of chooks, I am setting here next to the wood stove and still cold. I am so tired and sore I am ready to call it a day. Now I get to look forward to cleaning the trailer and restocking tomorrow.
Oh and one more fun note from today. I do not like Steel toe boots. However this free pair I have happen to be steel toe. Well today I guess I should be thankful for steel toes. See while SUV had parked where I was headed. She decided she couldn't park in handicap and started to back out just asI turned to continue. Well I bumped into the side of her car (yes she had pulled in that close to me) And she ran over the toes of my boot. I have the black marks still on my boot from where the tire slid off. That was almost a close call!

The issue is how you sleep, you need to sleep toes UP, not toes pointed.
keep the achilles stretched, not retracted, otherwise yes, the first step in the morning will tear tissue, then you get the hard lump of adhesion............If you sleep on your tummy, hang the toes off the foot of the bed, otherwise on your side, curl up, never point.
I used to sleep on my tummy legs straight & that way toes were pointed & in so doing, shrank the tendon & in the morning I tore it trying to stretch it out so fast...............as to walk.........

Ouch! Glad you had the steel toed boots, and I hope that woman was more careful after that. Also hope the sales were good and that you aren't chilled to the bone tomorrow.

CL: Agree with you 100%.....hence the term "Shoot-Shovel-Shut up". We have to take care of our criters and by law we can protect livestock. Yes, there are some things that "protected" but I really doubt crows are. Here starlings have a bounty on their head. 0.25 cents a piece. right now the starlings are trying to get in the squirrel hole in my willow tree....they are really pissing off the momma squirrel.

Besides the fact in most counties, there IS a bounty on crows.

I was wondering the same, but I don't think it would work. with Plantar Fascitis we get holes and tears in the Fascia, and the is what causes the pain, well, that and the stretching of the fascia over the heel bone. With what he has going in the hands, thick cords of tendon or ligaments (muscle or bone connections?) form from the finger to the palm and pulle the finger down to the palm. It has to be cut, tron or stretched to release - kind of the opposite of plantar fasciitis.

No more flip flops for you !
Flip flops and other no heeled shoes and sleeping incorrectly are the reason the tendons are injured !!
