If our high school kids get ahold of the vandals before police - I worry. Our kids (understandably) are furious, upset, devistated, etc. There is video of them, but their faces are covered. But kids can't keep quiet....it willl get out on who did it. The husband was quite colorful in language on what HE would do with them and what he would hang them by. We will just say - let's go with toenails - hang them by their toenails. I would hate to be the parents of those vandals. What is unfortunate - is that those vandals probably were never told NO, never given rules, allowed to run amuck - probably not good parents to begin with. There is a FB page that has been put together. We are hoping that they will allow parents/kids to come in an dhelp clean up. Home Depot has already ofered up anything that is needed to make repairs and clean up the mess.

CR- Don't you just love large community events where everyone thinks they ought to bring their dog? Protect your pet, leave it at home! Like I should talk about pets when I have seen parents do similar things with their children!!!

Get this one....how about take your dog when you are going to yard sales and when you get to said yard sale (not your house or someone you know) you let the dog out to pee and defecate in a complete stranger's yard and run around and harrass the home owner's dogs (who happen to be put away in their kennels). Yep....my mother has had this done to her on a number of occasions. But if you only knew my mother....she is not quiet about things. They left without buying anything - which is fine - she probably would not have sold them anything because they made her so angry.

You can be a BIG start to the help. Put the word out with your boys and any others. Tell them that while you (and I) understand they are very upset and want to "take care" of these bad people. IF they do anything to cause them harm then they (your boys and friends) are no better than those who caused all of the damage. Also they will end up being the ones to suffer the most. See they have had their school damaged and lost things that mean a lot to them. And then when they get caught for "taking care of business" they will do time and have a criminal record. and in the mean time the vandals will most likely be walking free to continue. I know the good kids are not going to want to believe this but the best thing ANY of them can do is to go right to the cops with any info they may hear.

Chickielady,

It is legal to shoot crows, you just can't shoot ravens.

During the spring and summer months, I make sport with my pellet gun of the english sparrows, starlings, magpies, and try the crows. (they are pretty smart)

CL: Agree with you 100%.....hence the term "Shoot-Shovel-Shut up". We have to take care of our criters and by law we can protect livestock. Yes, there are some things that "protected" but I really doubt crows are. Here starlings have a bounty on their head. 0.25 cents a piece. right now the starlings are trying to get in the squirrel hole in my willow tree....they are really pissing off the momma squirrel.
I'm checking what I said with the Audubon Society, just so I can know whether I remember correctly or not. Crows are native and they are scavengers. It could be possibly that there was a more local ordinance in Seattle when I lived there

Okay, everyone I have posted this many times in many places. I have viewed BYC how tos, I have looked on YouTube and I am still terrified to try.

I have this wonderful small upright freezer that I want to turn into an incubator but I am scared to start. I just don't know where or how. Husband is useless in this department (sorry honey). I just keep reading and I just don't know where to start.

Also, some have incubators that they start the eggs....then they move the eggs to another for lock down. Why is this?

Please advise before my heads begins to spin. And YES I am going through tthe BYC how to forums looking for advice to. Problem is I don't trust well and I know you guys and trust your advice. I tend to be leary from people I don't know and want verification. Not that they (in this case) mean any harm....just that I don't want to go through all the trials and tribulations if they don't know what it is that they are talking about.

Well as I recall you said that the freezer doesn't work right? So nothing ventured nothing gained. Just go at it like eatin an elephant. ONE BITE AT A TIME ! ! ! Take time to look and think through every move in advance. You will do fine.
