Anyway, this gal also told me she would only feed Nutrena and has never had a problem before or since. I just happened to be in Yakima at Coastal and I had used it before so when it went on sale for chick days I bought a bunch, but, I now have a bunch to feed and about 18 more hopefully in a few more days!! Lock down is Easter!!

Well, got a call from the VA and they made an appointment for a CT scan of my hip today at 230pm!!! jeez it's about time!! Everyone cross your fingers they find the issue so we can get it taken care of and move on already!!

Ron hope your feeling better? Well, better get got lots to do before I go to the Tricities for the apt!

I've lost about 8-10 birds over the last two months; mostly bantams and started chicks. I thought at first it was bad luck, but I am sending a bird in for necropsy today. I am also sending in some feed samples to be tested.

Poor Blondie has lost his harem. I sold the A frame to one of my egg customers.

I'm so sorry Haller... Are you going to be able to keep any of your chickens?

Well I went to visit my friend with Boer goats and she kindly educated me on the different stages of pregnancy in goats. Needless to say, of the three younger doelings, two are most likely prego!! They had been gaining a bit more weight then their sister, so I had my suspisions but, after a close examination looks like I will have more kids late June!!

Sunny here right now- I should be working but I got four hours of sleep last night, maybe four and a half, and my scars and piles of things cut to the wrong dimensions are a warning against trying to build anything on a day I overfilled my coffee cup twice. So I am feeding animals and filling water and a bit of cleaning up outside, but nothing that involves irrevocable decisions.

Yesterday was a loss to construction, too, although a big gain on another front: a young lady I know through one of my other online places was here from Sweden, and this time her (German, now living in the Alsace) friend had a rental car, and the ONE PLACE it wasn't raining was the Mima Mounds Prairie Preserve, so we went off to look at the barely-emergent Camas and the rampant mosses and lichens, and came back via Gate, Porter (My WORD there's a lot of Chehalis River outside its banks!) Elma and then home from the west.

How can it be the first week of April, pussy willows still in bloom, skunk cabbage barely blooming? What did we do to deserve this?

I feel as if I'm holding Malvina (the Australorpe I got from TC) under false premises: I've gotten an egg a day from her since mid-February. She did hide one from me a few days ago, and spent one day resolutely sitting on her that-morning's egg and the contraband one, so I suspect that I could put seven to nine (three day's worth, about) Hamburg eggs under her and she'd sit tight: this may well happen tomorrow or Friday, if I can get the broody pen put together of 4" mesh livestock panel and Other.

I just candled the 7 eggs I've got in the Brinsea. They should be at 7 days now. Amazingly, the lone Ameraucana egg from Pips&Peeps that I held onto for 10 days before incubation has veining! The 6 wheaten Marans eggs are so beautiful and dark I'm having a hard time seeing any veining, even with my brand new high powered Ovascope, but one baby was so persistent there was no mistaking it - that little bugger was highly visible and squirming!

So, two have life for sure right now. Only 14 more days to go - I can hardly stand it.

I want babies! (Even though none of these are for me.)
