LMBO!!! Thats how I feel. Im sitting right at 4 weeks. Ive finally come to terms with the fact that I cant make her come any faster. So I feel a little calmer about the situation. Now if I could get my poor DH to relax a little. Poor guy is a nervous wreck, jumps every time iether his cell or work phone rings.

Ive got to be getting close, as those nesting instincts have finally kicked in. My house is cleaner than it has been in months, I cleaned all three horse paddocks yesterday, with the help of my 12 year old brother. Ive got tons of energy, and am running out of things to do! Today I will tackle the bathroom! The easter holliday distroyed it! lol Will also be tackling the girls room again. Seems like as soon as I get it cleaned up, little miss Chloe rips it apart again. Oh well its a never ending battle. At least I can get her to clean her toys up out of the living room. lol Its iether that or they get swept up and tossed.

Hey CL I have a question about Buckeyes. I have been looking at alternatives to Cornish X's for meat bird and have read that Buckeyes are wonderful as meat birds. I was wondering if you have ever raised them for meat and what are your thoughts on this. I have heard they taste 10 times better then the cornish x's I know they will take longer ( 16-18 weeks) But is it worth the added time and effort?

I raise Buckeyes, and one of thier background ancestors is the Cornish or otherwise known as "Indian Game" and yes they are very meaty !!!!
Thick shanked and broad across the heart girth..........and fast !

4 mo old. check out this boy's shank size !!

SunBug4:
HI, I am in Omak. Welcome. Very-Very exciting to have a local. I am Teresa (also known as 4312). I work at the hospital. Husband works for city of Okanogan. My chicken math has exploded. They are so fun. BTW, these people are some of the best in the world. But...be ware...they are enablers. Soon you will want to hatch, and show, and etc, etc, etc.

When I "quote"...I get all this mumbo jumbo. Not sure that this will even work...but here's trying.

worked just fine as far as text goes.

I just wasnt happy with the way the Cornish's seemed to struggle so much with walking and breathing.... I didnt have any leg issues or anything like that but I just felt very unsettled with the Cornish. I got Barred Rock Cockerels as packing pellets when I got the Cornish and although they arnt meaty at all they are all so happy n healthy.... The run around the yard n flap their wings and spar each other things that chickens should do and the cornish could barely lift their legs to walk. Although the cockerels will be made into stock at 16 weeks I feel so much better about it because they dont seem like are suffering to just take a step. I think I am gonna get a few buckeyes and give them a try. Thanks CL

I am going to try and respond. All above is cryptic (I guess that is how I would describe). very odd. Maybe I just need to turn off my computer. I am just so excited that there is another Omakian. Oh, SunBug...we do have an Okanoganite (Rare Feather Farms).
