oooh I am waiting, waiting, waiting for my muscovy duck eggs to hatch in my incubator. It is so hard to just sit and wait because they are due to hatch sometime this week... at least by my calculations. Last i candled them I was able to see little duck feet moving in there along with other type of movement. Patience I need it. This is my first time using incubator and hatching.

Chickie's awesome gluten free bread:

1 T active dry yeast
1 T sugar
1 1/2 C warm water
This in a small bowl in a warm place to foam......

In a BIG bowl combine:

2 1/2 C GF Flour (mixture of as I mentioned before)
2 t Xanthum Gum
1 T salt
Mix this all up & add the seeds if you like (I do): 1/2 c sunflower seeds, 1/2 c slivered almonds, 1/2 cup whole flaxseed and 1/2 cup pepitos.....you can also use chopped walnuts, poppy seeds or sesame seeds.....all these must be gluten free, if it says "processed on equipment that also processes wheat" do not buy it & do not use it, it can be contaiminated by wheat !

Mix all the dry together.
In a small bowl:

2 large eggs (beaten)
1 1/2 T EVOO
1 cup half & half or milk
1 t cider or Red Wine Vinegar

Mix this all up good.when the yeast mixture is frothy (proofed) add the 2 liquids together & mix, then pour on the dry ingedients & "fold" until totally mixed.
It will be thickish & sticky...do not over mix, do not knead !
Pour as soon as all is wet, into greased bread pan & smush down in all corners............
Now the tricky part (not!)
Dip a single paper towel in warm water (hold each corner) and drape over the top of the bread...set it in a warm oven to rise, and may have to repeat the paper towel process until the bread has risen about 1/2 to 1 " over the top of the pan.
Then remove the paper towel & bake at 300-350 for about 50-60 minutes or when toated on top & dry but still moist inside (insert tooth pick or bamboo skewer)
After wards tuen on it's side to cool, after 20 mintes you can cut around edges & drop loaf out on a cooling rack.............very very good !!!!!!!!

a BIG THANK YOU!! I will try making it this weekend..

Oh I was a young Mother when I dyed the cat.but my aunt dyed her tea cup poodle a different color each time she was trimmed, and carried the dog around in her giant purse !
A frequent sight at Bay Meadows race track.

My mom did dog for a living and she would use food coloring on ours and other people who wanted it done. All my friends thought I had the coolest MOM, which I did.

Have lots of extra Olive Eggers! They will be black or cuckoo and may be split for lavender too. I'm bummed, I hatched out 14 of them, and not one lavender! Both parents are split for it too! Waaaaa!!! So no progress has been made on my lavender cuckoo OE project as of yet. But I have more pure Lav Am's in the bator as we speak, so I will just keep swimmin' up that stream! Oh, and if Jean is around, she so graciously gave one of my 4-Her's some bantam Am eggs at the show and we hatched out 3 for him! He was thrilled!

I also have some pet quality Seramas for sale, two black laced red (BLRW) cockerels and one splash Marans cockerel if anybody is interested, check out my facebook page and there is a link to my craigslist ad.

CGG! I hatched out 9 Orps from you split girls, and got FOUR lavenders!!!!! So excited!!!! My pair has been in with your hens for a fews weeks now. Gonna wait at least another week to start collecting from that pen as my girl was in with the pure lav orp roo before moving her.

Robin, you coming up to Monroe anytime soon? I was chatting with Monicas, and we both need a How to Vaccinate for Mareks lesson!!! She's getting some of my Orp chicks and we decided we need a teacher!!! Let me know if you can help us out!!!!!

Oh! Got my CT Scan results back and the Dr. finally called me this morning to go over the results and all looks 100% normal. So that is good news. Luckily that horrific nerve pain in my shoulder only lasted for one full week and then took care of itself!!! Still have a somewhat achy shoulder all of the time. Told the Dr I'm due for my physical and want to address that when I come in. Hoping to deal with that next week. Also have to get our little Figgy Pudding pup spayed next week.

Anyway, catching up on boring old housework today with this miserable rain. I totally overdid it working outside over the weekend and have some really sore muscles from bending over weeding! Do it to myself every spring!!! Nice to have a day off.

Later peeps!!!

told my hubby oh I wont hatch anymore after a a a the next box comes in. Than I say oh honey I didnt pay for the eggs just swaped my soap with them, its a deal.. He just looks at me and walks away.
So I know after this sunday when I get my all time chicks I'll be done, yep I will. Oh but have that last box on the way too.

So pretty sure I cant keep all the sizzle's if I get a good hatch but the Legbars are staying here unless they are all roos. Oh but guess I better stop now becasue they might not hatch. So on with my dream .

Hi again Stephanie. You will have to PM your last name. Maybe I know your inlaws. I gew up in Twisp. Husband grew up over on the "wet side"...but moved to the Methow quite a few years ago. We moved to Omak (from Twisp) almost 15 years ago. We have 3 kids 18 yo boy, 16 yo boy, 10 yo girl. I have more birds than I "need"...but what does "need" have to do with it?

I am getting more as we speak....LOL. We will have to meet and do coffee, or ? sometime.

hey Robin if you are going to plan a trip to Monroe in the near future let me know...Maybe I can pick up turkeys from you there. I still need to figure out how to do.

[/quote] Speaking of, I probably should have mentioned this sooner, but I'm heading to Pullman on Friday morning for Mom's weekend. I'll be taking the Prius but have a little room if anyone needs any birds transported over to the east side of the mountains. If you can get it to me/Tacoma by Friday morning at 9 AM I'll pack it in and drive it over!
