When ? I do need to empty some birds out of the brooder !!!!!!!

I am trying I promise. R u going to be in Monroe any time soon? this weekend? Are you going to Stevenson? I am not? This weekend I actually have stuff going on...was kind of hoping to bring husband with me too to help me drive and know where it is I am going. Monroe I can do by myself and I have a place to stay. I am so sorry. I know this is a terrible inconvience for you and I want my turkeys.

Okay I may be able to help here. I had troubles getting the new bator dialed in, so I am now interested in turkeys too. If I get the turkeys to Enumclaw, and can keep them until Chinook Pass opens, will that help? I would even consider meeting at the top of the pass, unless anyone less would be interested in going in on the deal on the Yakima side? I am also open to a road trip out to the coast to visit with CL aka Robin.

Let me talk with hubby...that may help. I was trying to go next weekend. No, I am not making it to Stevenson... I don't have the $$$. I can stay with family for the road trip to pick up turkeys. I WILL make the fall show though.

Thank you for the offer. I will let you know. I need to talk with Robin too to see what works for her.

Chinook Pass is still closed, so meeting up there can't be done until late May to as late as early July. We could meet either at Snoqualmie Pass, or at the Hwy 18 interchange.

Umm, Christina? The bay leaves I brought over when we made chicken stock were from Rainwolf.

I remembered that you mentioned that you had gotten bay leaves from RW. I just didn't really clue in that there was a big difference between the varieties. I did note that the leaves were different than the store bought leaves. I also didn't really taste a difference in the stock. So now I would like to try the different types of bay leaves.
How are you doing Robin? I hope things are going well for you and your DH.

Since it's my fault that Emily hasn't come yet, I am volunteering to come and give you a stretch if you want. On the other hand if I would just get the doll quilt done you could just go into labor naturally. I would rather come over and give you the stretch. I want to see the idea work. It makes sense why it would work.

There is a small town in Ecuador where the temperature averages 82 degrees year round. The town has a large ex pat community. Plus health care is much better in Ecuador. Now all I need is to get DH to agree to move there with me. My understanding is that the houses come with a maid and gardener too. I would love to live some where warm, but I am not very interested in living with a lot of sand. Eastern WA isn't bad, but the winters scare me. I really just want to be warm, and some sunshine wouldn't be so bad either.

I am like seriously talking to myself tonight. Oh well I am fairly good at talking to myself.

I got 5 or 6 loads of laundry on the line and mostly dried today. I have another couple of loads I am hoping to get dried tomorrow before the rain starts again. I am also hoping to get the coop cleaned out. I also need to make the garden harder to get into.Jet thinks it's funny to jump the 4 foot fence around the garden.

I gave all 6 dogs a bath tonight. I am so hoping that they will stay clean for a day or two. I am so grateful that we have an extra large walk in shower. It makes washing Jet so much easier. He does seem to love to play in the water. I don't think I have ever had a dog like a bath as much as Jet does.

I sold the last of the chicks that I hatched about a month ago. They were all roos, so there really wasn't any good reason for me to keep feeding them. I was dropping the chicks off at the auction, when I spotted a Society finch in a cage all by it's self. I couldn't stand it, so now I have 13 finches. For today I left it in the cage by it's self, but at least it can see and hear the other finches. I am going to wait a bit before putting it in the flight cage with the flock.

I got a total of 6 dozen eggs set in the incubator yesterday. I have 3 dozen Cornish X, 1 dozen Polish Crested, 1 Dozen Minorca, and 6 Silver Spanged Hamburgs. I have no clue what the other 6 eggs are. All I know for sure is that they are white eggs. So I am guessing either SSH, or PCs. I may call the hatchery on Monday and ask. I couldn't tell the difference between the two breeds. I wish they had marked the eggs. I got most of the eggs from Schlecht Hatchery. I am praying that this hatch will be problem free. I think that I am due a successful hatch this time.

I also need to get the wire strung for the raspberry canes. I don't know why I haven't gotten this done yet. The posts have been set for a couple of months now. I even got the holes drilled in the cross bars, all I need to do is hang the wire.

Well just writing out all the things I need to get done tomorrow before the rain comes back, makes me feel tired. So I think it's time for me to head to bed.

Alright, I give. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. These stupid animals are driving me up the wall. I've got two of them in solitary for going after the others, and now the other 3 are pecking each other. I have tried treats, entertainment, extra protein, blue spray, every dang thing I can find to make them stop, but I will not start crafting little coats for these birds and I will not spend another dime on them so help me. The factory farms got it right. Nonsentient, vicious, brainless animals like these don't warrant going to any trouble for so-called "quality of life." If no one wants them they will all be killed this week. Screw it.
