Stevenson? Been hearing a lot about it. I have commitments this weekend, but sounded like something I would have love to gone to.

Are there other types of events, like this, in WA state???

Well, eventually you'll be good as new and then we'll take our road trip.
We're headed out to you, JB!
Thanks for the welcome back!

I can't quite walk yet, but I am up to stumbling around for about 30 minutes at a time, a few times per week. I ditched the crutches on Saturday because I could not hold a laundry basket at the same time. I am going absolutely stir-crazy because I have been home since Easter and I have barely been out of this room.

I have to help olivia write up her science fair project. We tried but failed at training chickens to run an obstacle course. I think you have to start with sensory-deprived, cage raised chickens. Ours just won't peck at anything that is not food.

We went to plan B and boiled fresh eggs every few days until we found out how old they have to be in order to peel easy when boiled.

Just got a very low battery warning, so I must say goodnight and plug this thing in. Love ya all!

Welcome to all the new people!

We need to have a big ol' get together, don't you think?
Ron, we still coming out to your place for a BBQ?

Good night, all. I am going to bed!

After that, I'll be selling the broken bill gander separately and then the pair....if anyone's interested? I would not recommend them for someone with small children...BUT they do make excellent watch animals and will attack strangers!
And even familiar people's calves, ouch!

Hope you heal quickly.

Your chickens eat giant slugs? Man, they need to give my girls a lesson or two. They are spoiled rotten and don't eat anything. They eat the snakes, though I wish they wouldn't. Ooooh, and the time they caught a preying mantis. What joy! I'm going to have to try the ducks. I've heard muscovies will even hunt rats.

I think the muscovies would be better, more dedicated slug hunters but yes, my hens annihilate slugs. I had heard that chickens weren't crazy about eating slugs, so we made sure to feed them tiny slugs when they were babies, and it seemed like it worked. If the slugs are too big to eat in one bite, the hens peck them into smaller bites. gruesome but effective.

Day 21 for the Ameraucana - the "in my pocket, in my cup holder, kitchen table, garage", lonely 10 day old egg - and this morning I woke up to a "cheep!"
What an amazing thing hatching is! Hopefully those 6 other babies will be greeting me tomorrow morning.
That is so cool, SadieSue!

So I guess I will have to wait to finish it till tomorrow. Then all I have to do is screw the 4 panels together staple in the chicken wire and build a lid. I will be sure to post pics when its all done
