Well we are preparing for a long day to the big Oregon Poultry Swap. I hope the weather is good and I am able to sell LOTS of stuff. See yesterday afternoon on my way home from town my truck decided to strand me at the fuel stop. Seems the truck felt that it needed more attention than the $70 of diesel I had just poured into it's belly. Ooooohh heck no that just wasn't enough it wanted a $152 replacement starter or we weren't moving anywhere. So I managed to bum a ride home. Cook dinner for DW. Bum a ride back to town and borrow $$ to bribe the truck with said new starter. Then of course I got to educate the guy at the parts store. Seems he had no clue how to use their test bench. You would think I would get some kind of discount for that but NOOOO ! After 4 hours I had the truck fixed and was headed home. Then time to pack. Oooop's looks like those few last minute items won't get finished. Oh yes and finally all done and ready to get up and going at 4:30am and look it was only 12:30am.
I kinda think it's gonna be a long day!
Hmm, doesn't that truck have F...O....R......D.... on it?? Found On Road Dead??? rest my case!!
No really I'm sorry CR, Diesels can be hard on starters, had an older 6.2 chev suburban, had to put a few in too!! Glad you gotter fixed!! Have fun at the show!!

So, after a grueling all day trip in some SERIOUS RAIN! We arrived at CR's and then over to CL's, to get Mr peeps and the rest of the Turkey flock. I seriously don't know how you guys do it!! It was just one trip for me and I was so cold and my bones and joint were achy and I was sick of the rain already!! LOL!! Had a good time at both places, thanks for the food and hospitality!! Had to round up some WILD buckeyes!! And I mean WILD!! Put them in the brooder with mine and now they are ALL WILD!! I lived in Lynnwood for like 8 months and came back here cause I couldn't stand the rain!! Too depressing! I was stationed on Bangor and I don't remember it raining that much!! LOL!
So turkeys are doing well, 4312 will be here this afternoon to pick up her little poults, looking forward to that, Taco is being a great pup and I am doing some desensitizing to the chickens and ducks, so, we have a nice little Taco to the birds and goats. Oh, so I had two duck eggs in the bator, so far only one is still kicking and pipped some time last night, so just waiting for that, first time for ducks, after looking again at Cl's bator, I will have a couple projects going I think. Anyway, gotta get moving, thought I would try to catch up on the posts,
welcome-byc.gif
to the newbies! I will post turkey and buckeye pics soon!

Wow! how cool! you guys get all the good stuff!! sorry I have to miss it!!

I didn't really think that was an option, so many people have told me that feed and water should stay upside once they're grown to reduce mess in the coop, but I could just as easily leave the hanging feeder in the coop I guess. Won't that make them more likely to frequent the coop all day and make more poop mess instead of stay outside and free range? Thanks for answering all my ???s, I'm still super new to all this!
Depends on their age & the type of feeder you have.
Alot of young birds will kick out alot of feed & waste it if you do not have the correct type of feeder.
Everyone has a type that they like or dislike.
You just have to find the one that works for you.

That is great, I need to start a coop like RFF is going to do but Im just going to have one that has two sides to it. That way I will have to stop getting chicks and new breeds. I do think Im close at stopping with the breeds I have now.

I hope

OH NO tell me the people and I'll pm them. Im so sorry

I wonder if other people are say CL for them too. CRABS Im sorry.
Naw, it is no biggee !
Half the time CL is Cloverleaf Farms (Clover Leaf) and half the time it is CL (CraigsList) so not to worry !
