went to check and the bunny had her babies... OMG they are ugly when only a couple hours old. Best count was 6-8 babies. Hubby wasn't going to mess with them much at all we just looked and did a quick count.

And here is the mother of these babies.... OMG I know these aren't chickens but wow!!!!

and here is momma tonight with her adoptee. I went to take pics and she got up on my lap ( I was sitting down) and the baby jumped up and settled right in. It was super cute. I took a ton of pictures of the birds before the batteries died in my camera and so I put everybody to bed...

Momma and we don't know what the baby is. I call her a lavender something.
Don't ask me why but I guess I never knew bunnies weren't born with hair! Eew! They look so gross!

I was talking to Dawn when I met up with her this morning to get my Lotion bars! I love them and I am going to be letting all of my friends try them and hopefully sending some business her way! SHe is awsome! ANYWAY.....I am going to be gone that weekend because it's Memorial day weekend and youngest DS has a LaCrosse tournament down in Lake Oswego, OR. So if we can do it another weekend or if she still needs help after I will come and do anything. Except maybe windows!

Ahhh, darn with the windows. Have you seen my house? It's amost all windows; and after a winter of horizontal rain, they all need washing! When it is overcast and dry, I get a bucket of warm water, add a little amonia and get rag and an assortment of squeegees and do a room or two per day. Not too bad that way. Many of the windows flip completely around in their frames so I can wash the outsides from inside the house, no need for a ladder on the hill.

I hope your DS does great in the LaCrosse tournament.

Poor Momma, did you have her on antibiotics ever ?
She still looks really swollen as if she has an active infection, poor baby !
We've given her the antibiotics. I can't remember what it was but it was what the ranch store suggested. I got her when I first got my chickens. Now we use an eyedrop for her. It is Vetericyn. and is a gel drop. She hates when I put them in her eyes but they seem to help. Out of all the chickens I started with she was the only one with problems. I am going to do some more research to see if there is anything else I can do. But she gets around ok. I just wish she was able to see. She's became such a love to me that I want to make her better. Honestly, I am not sure what to try with her eyes... The one is completely covered with a white film looking thing. her other eye is usually fine and clear. But when I treat her eyes I do both just to make sure... Any suggestions what else to try?

Thanks guys.

Cailet Tempest - wow those babies are super industrial strength UGH-LEE. Honestly, I thought those were massive tumors - until I started reading. I never saw baby bunnies. I assumed they had color to them - like newborn puppies. The only pinkies I have ever seen were mice and I really don't care to see anymore of those. Everyday I learn something on BYC. I know the bunnies will be adorable later.

Thanks guys.
careful with verterycin, it is chlorine & can harm eyes.
I would use a broad spectrum antibiotic...and they eye cream that comes in the teeny tube, very expensive & I cannot remember the name but has a consistancy of vaseline.
Ask pettec63 what it is called.
Sorry about the double post, I thought it did not go through the first time.
other than that, when was the eye infection ?

Not bad until you have to do the outside windows...especially in that pass through hallway..............3 stories UP (or down)

That stinks about the truck but I'm glad you coaxed it back to life. Hope the poultry swap was good and you sold lots of goodies.

Bummer about your truck CR! My parents always had fords and most were pretty good except for the van we had to park facing downhill because the thing was too heavy to push start!

My parents owned a few Chrylers when I got older; a Dodge Maxivan all pimped out with smoked glass windows and a picture of a spaceship hurtling through space painted on the side. Inside was royal blue shag carpeting, a teardrop coffee table, fridge, sink, closet.... It was what I learned to drive in, and boy was I embarrassed to be seen in it! Worst yet, my dad was a guillable sucker and his coworkers at IBM told him that the thing had to be driven backwards through all the obstacles they had painted in the DMV parkinglot for motorcycles to go forward through (San Jose, CA). Dad used to take me to the DMV lot at night, to try and practice backing that thing through the spiral and other obstacles, of course he could not even do it. He would not believe me it was for motorcycles to go FORWARD through. After a couple of nights, we switched to the Cutlass Supreme Brougham which was no easier. I'm sure his coworkers were sitting in the lot across the street with a few beers laughing their a**es off. My parents were both foreign born (East Prussia for dad, Holland for mom), and we noticed that their co-workers played lots of tricks on them because they were so guilable! Us kids would know all the good jokes at school, because our parents would repeat them to us because they needed them explained since they did not understand any of the slang. They were a bit horrified we knew.
