I am wishing all of you indent & type as if you were speaking.
Then alot more of us could read your posts.
Thanks for noticing....as actually when you post a huge page it is hard to follow the small print.
Maybe if you choose a different layout (above) it may help ?

It is seriously hard to follow some posts that go on & on with narry a paragraph indentation.
Just sayin'

Off to have Lasagna !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smells so good in here & now I have to do garlic bread !!

I guess I am guilty as charged.
See All that what dots go where never made any sense to me and furthermore never made me any better electrician, mechanic or welder!

me too!

I moved up here January '93, It snowed from Red Bluff all the way to here. I had only seen snow 3 times in my life prior, and now I was driving my car alone with all my possessions either crammed in it or tied to it. What an interesting drive! I followed a plow from Red Bluff to the Oregon Border, and then I had to put on chains. Luckily one of my friends had baked me a pan of brownies, so I went car to car until I found someone who would take the brownies in exchange for putting the chains on. Then I couldn't understand why everyone was staying in the right lane, crawling along down the pass at 5 mph! That left lane was wide open, and it was mine. I zipped past the entire traffic jam and pulled over near Medford to remove the chains. This time a trucker stopped and removed them for me. I spent the night at a friends who lived in the mts west of Grants Pass. Early in the morning I stopped for gas, and the attendant was flirting with me. He noticed that there was snow covering my license plate. I told him to leave it, but he kicked it off, and when he saw the California plates, he went from being friendly to instant jerk with an attitude. I told him not to worry, I was moving to Washington.

I hate it when people blame Californians for all their ills. Most of us are nice people who are not out to change the laws. There are jerks in every state, so please stop blaming Californians for your issues.

Do you know why they died? I've never raised turkeys. Are they more finicky than baby chickens. I'm sorry you lost them all.

I bet your house will be beautiful! We don't have carpeting in our house because DD had so many ear infections when she was little, and nothing else seemed to help much.
Honestly I think they were just too stupid to eat? I picked them up on Thursday, the day they came in and I spent over and hour hr them and showed them where the food was n water. I put pretty pebbles in there so they would peck the shinny things... I made sure all three were doing good eating and drinking. Well all was well until Sunday I found one dead... Then 2 hrs later the other two were so week they could barely move. I straw feed them for a few hrs and added two broiler chicks to show them how to feed. They both made it through the nigtht. I straw feed them every other hr just to make sure but they were peckin at the feed n water by mid day monday they were week and within a hour one was dead and the other died this morning. SO I dunno what I did wrong I never had turkeys before. I had it the right temp I added sugar to their water for and added boast so I dunno. My husband is mad at me because they were 15 dollars each and we only had them 3 days before started to die so I wasted 45 bucks

Yep. Don't know why I could possibly be one of the problems...I came here because my DH is from here, but I'm about as conservative as one can possibly get and hate the fact that just because I'm from CA people view my badly. In fact, most of my CA friends who now live in WA are quite conservative and hate big gov't interfering in small town life. I think we're just lucky to be in WA in the first place; it's one of the HUGE crunchy areas of the country where home birth, cloth diapering, farming, organic living, etc isn't viewed as completely wacky! I <3 WA for that!

That's sad. I order a pasture raised turkey that was locally raised. That is about how much I pay for the processed turkey (small one as DH and DD don't like turkey).

I have never raised turkeys either. Sounds like you did everything possible for them. I'm sorry it did not work out.

awe, I'm so sorry that they didnt make it =( maybe they had a bad trip & nothing u did or didnt do. Sounds like u did everything possible & supposed to do. Chicks all u "should" have to do is show them their food & water, tapping at it, like ur eating it & they pick it up.. or dip their beak in it... plus the others show them... that's only my guess - Bad Trip there, maybe they were tossed around.. who knows.. or bad hatch... like our "runt" wound up being. Glad ur pullet is well tho.. that's a good thing at least =)

Nabbed a couple Baby pics today -- least tried.. The babies tend to get excited when I go out & sit with them....haha Not easy getting some decent shots...
but here ya go, some cuteness =)

Porsha & Buffy the D'Uccles & then Lacey (bottom) 1 of the Frizzles -- Gots to love the looks on the faces..."Whatcha Doin?"

Cuddles (Orpington) as I named her, she is such a lap bird..

Why is it, that no matter how BIG the feeder, they all "insist" on eat from the same spot or area.....hahaha

Iowa (Iowa Blue) isn't easy to get a pic of, but she's in the middle of the RIR & I think the Orloff... She's sooo Birdzilla compared to everyone.. born 4/11..not sure if others were born same time or not....to know if her "Largeness" is normal..hahaha

WOW What a surprise when I looked out the window this morning to see we had a pretty good frost. Check of the thermo shows it got down to 28* last night.

FYI Seems once again one of us is facing what I feel is a pretty serious med issue. I am not at liberty to discuss who or what. While I would really like to I am respecting their wishes.
So I am just going to ask that we keep this person in our THOUGHTS and send positive energy their way!
