What a day, driving to the store I saw a box in the road normally I just swerve and keep going, but soemthing told me to stop, so I did, inside were 4 dead kittens and one was still alive. OMG

I was sooo mad, so I brought the kitten home and it seems to be doing ok. Still rather young but can survive without Mom. Then my bro in law calls and asks if we want his rabbit. Ummm NO! lol I told him to ask my husband as my husband said if we brought home a rabbit he would eat it. SO he called my husband who is clear across the country working and my husband said yes.

So now we have 2 dogs, 4 cats, 5 chickens and a rabbit soon plus the fish adn the kids. OMG! NO MORE!! Please no more.. lol I am still sooo mad about the kittens, what kind of person does that????

LOL! I am so glad you saved the kitten! That is kinda how chickens started here! They talked me into 4 Chickens (hubby and kids) then we ended up with 6 then 2 more then culling one then 2 more lol! We are now 9 chickens 2 cats and 3 busy boys! Girl you have your have your hands full! Well now its Adventures in Rabbits! Let us know how that goes! Good luck with your wee little kitten!

Oh, don't worrie about that. Would never do that, plus we were going to pick her up that or the police would have. But turns out that by the time the guy got to his friends house she was gone. The lady of the house was feeding her dinner but said they could not stay the night. The guy that called us said he was going to go back to Fredmyers to get a copy of the flyer so he could not only keep an eye out for her but so he could show the lady of the house and make sure it was my sister that was there. He is being a great person.

Why can't I live closer to some of you guys?!!!! Dang it. I would take that in a heart beat, I LOVE fish.

Oh so glad at least one of the kittins were ok, poor babies. And yeah for a bunny, just make sure you put a hidden hot wire around it or a force field that way your bunny is safe and you know if and when your Hubby attemps to have it for an after work snack! LOL

Here is a pic of the rescued lil girly and my daughter.. My dog Daisy has already claimed the kitten, Daisy is border collie and aussie shepard and she wont let our mastador near her. LOL! She licked the baby soo much i had to take her away so I could dry her off she was getting soo cold. Ha Ha! Silly dog.. Now the name game begins.. lol

I hope you enjoy! Its the unexpected that really turns out to bring great things! We got our 2 cats that way, a friend found them in a box nearly frozen to death we ended up with the runt and one of the others that she couldn't give away. They have been great and added to our lives and added more when we got the chickens!

LOL! I LOVE fish to, and I still haev a 30 gal tank with fish, but with the sudden increase in critters I need to downsize somewhere.. lol and honestly cleaning the fish tank is one of my least fave chores. ROFL!

LOL Hubby is only home for 2 weeks after every 6, so I think the bunny will be safe. Ha Ha! It has always lived inside the house, soooo hmmm do you think I can get it used to living outside with a proper set up as far as cool in the summer and warm in the winter? Or is a rabbit now going to live in my sewing room to replace the chicks I just moved outside? ROFL!!! I have not had rabbits in YEARS and ours were always outside.. lol

Wow you guys are super helpful. Thanks for pointing me towards breeders. I'm going to wait and see how the first year goes with these ones. they aren't even outside yet but I have a silkie that still could be a roo and i always worry about losing some to natural predators and such.

I'm reading this book free range chicken gardens. Does anyone fulltime free range their flock in washington and if so do you have a garden? I think mine would all get eaten by the stupid raccoon under my shed!

I am reading the chicken gardens book too. I think my chickens would all be eaten up if I free ranged full time. I lost one last week having them enclosed in an electric fence. The author is a landscaper in our area. I am thinking about consulting with her but doubt that I can have them out unless I am home am loud enough to keep predictors away.
