HI guys,
Wasn't there someone on this board that was an "EE expert"? I have a couple pics of my 7 week old EE. I am pretty sure its a pullet but would love some input.

Copy/paste the bird's photo (try to show comb) to a PM to Illia.

Thanks dawng and Teva! I appreciate the feedback.

With EE's is it the coloring that helps determine sex? What would a cockerel look like? Just curious......

Last month I read this whole forum from front to back. Yeah, it took a few days.....

But I'm pretty good at telling the difference now! If I would have read it before I got my EE's, I would have realized that my white one with red feathers on the shoulder and back was a cockeral!! Pullets don't have dark red feathering on their shoulders and back. The one you have, only pullets come in this color unless it has the dark red feathering. Pretty interesting stuff!

CR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were just outside talking & unloading feed when I stopped cuz I heard major buzzing...and asked "why do I hear bees ?" and DH & I looked all around...and sure nuff, backside of the barn there was a 3 story high major swarm !
The swarm went over tree tops & off into the woods & I cannot find them now...............

Isn't it kinda early or was last year's swarms just late ?

Looks like a pullet to me, but hard to see the comb.
At that age the bird, if a cockerel should have hackle coming in & easy to see on it's back.
If no hackle, it is indeed a girlie.

Do not buy birds from Weeks. He's a 'chicken trader' and often times his birds are not healthy. I am speaking from experience.

I'm in Yakima, and have 7 BLRW hens - I'd move those, especially for New Hampshires.
I have 2 1 1/2 yr old NH Reds, but Yakima is pretty far from us. Other side of the mountains, I think?

Just found out that.....MY SISTER IS BACK

!
My family sucks though. I have been working my butt off trying to find her, and I always check her facebook, this morning I checked it and she had posted "I'm ok" and that was it. So I tried calling my dad to tell him and he did not answer so I called my grandma to tell her and she said, "oh yes, I know. She showed up lastnight. Your dad wanted to wait to tell you so he could try and talk to her, but she wont tell anything".

So not only did they not call me the second she showed up, but he has not called the police to come take her to juvenial detention. If he does not call them, I will and then he is in deep chicken poop too! Om gosh I am so happy she is home now though. Thank you guys all for your help and your support, you all have been so great.

Has your dad gone to court to get it so it illegal for your sister to run away? My mom had to do that before my sister could go to Juvenile detention.. its not illegal for a child or young teenager to run away. It is illegal for someone to take her in for the night.

I am glad to hear that she is back safe and sound.

No the timing is perfect ! Just remember "A swarm in May is worth a ton of hay but a swarm in June ain't worth a fiddlers tune!"
