This is going to be picture heavey!

These are the baby silkie chicks:

There is one white, two black with white feather tips, two light grey and one dark grey!

Next are the new girls I just picked up:

I thought I was getting a rumpless Araucana but she was the normal brown, even though the rumpless thing is cute I wanted a bit more unique to me! So here they are, they are so very perrrrrrtyyyy!

You have some cute babies there =) and your hens look great.

I would think it may be challenging to get the right temp and humidity.

OK and this looks like a good time to make my heat lamp speech. Mostly for new peeps.

NEVER NEVER EVER put a heat lamp in anything but a porcelain fixture. The fixture should have a sticker that says MAX bulb/lamp size. If you put a heat lamp in one of the cheap clamp on fixtures, you are playing with fire LITERALLY !! See the cheap fixtures can't take the heat. Thus the risk of fire.

I know some of you are probably tired of seeing me post about this. Well Since my friend / feed supplier lost their entire barn, Feed business and all their breeding hogs due fire that as near as we could tell was related to a heat lamp. I am on a mission. I will continue to spread the word. If I can save even one person from suffering what I saw my friend go through I will have succeeded.

OOoooo OOOOooo, I think you are right. I thought that is what I remembered the lady saying but I though of those white meat chickens and said to my self no that has to be wrong! Thank you for helping with that.
The clues are comb/wattles, coloration/pattern and the fact that the bird is "hard feathered" meaning very little "fluff".
Dark Cornish sometimes have issues keeping warm in very cold climes as a result.
She should have very yellow shanks, also.

Who was it here making soaps & lotions ?

Check this recipe out, looks like a nice thick "lotion" bar kinda like the chapped hands type:

DH occasionally gets the cracks in finger tips...this looks like it would really help him.
Now he uses my Chap Stick !

OK I remember now it was Dawn !!!

Yep - it's me =) I make lotion bars a lot like those.

I also have some liquid soap to get to you - it turned out very nice! I just have no idea how to mail it =) Hopefully you're coming up to Ron's BBQ!
