There are native Western Red Fox, mostly in forested areas/suburbs without too many coyotes (wooded + smaller than half-acre lots + small or nonexistant stormwater retention areas and vacant lots) but the big problem we've had (me and my neighboring cousin) is from Great Horned Owls. Hallerlake, who is in Seattle, has had trouble with Bald Eagles, CL and others have bobcats, and... argh, lost the name, up in North Bend, has bears.

But I think it's safe to say that the big three wild predators are Coyotes, Raccoons, and GHOs, with domestic dogs, feral cats, and humans being threats, too.

Snowman is a very easy going guy. Bob, the Sussex, has a deep, smokey crow, and poor Snowman pales in comparison. Sounds like he's crowing on tippy toes

I got these little chicks at the Bothell Feed Store, they were down to their last dozen or so. I wanted to go to Monroe Feed Store as they have a better selection, but had timing issues.

My EEs Chubby Cheeks and Caramel are from the Bothell feed store as well, from last spring. They lay nice blue eggs, almost the same color as my true Ameracuanas.

Does anyone have guesses on the breeds?
The reason I asked is because I have two chicks that look just like the two you bought. I also got mine from Bothell Feed Center. Not a clue what they could be, but hopfuly both of ours turn out to all be girls!

So I finaly finnished reading all the pages I was behind on.

All the chick pics that I saw are so very cute. I love the little princess she is just to beautiful.

The rooster that someone posted is by far the besst looking Rooster I have ever seen!

There was also somones new coop, that was cool.

I hope everyone is doing good, and I really hope all the families dealing with the hand and foot thing are getting better.

Well I have not quite smoking all the way yet, but I have drasticaly cut back. Only had 4 today and should be at none tomarrow!
When I was at Bothell feed center the other day there was a guy there talking to one of the gals at the counter, talking about how he wasa thinking about finding a home for his turkeys...... I promptly introduced myself and gave him my number. Today when I was takeing fuel to one of our jobs, the guy called and said I can have them. There are three tukeys, two of which are ready now and one that is setting on eggs in their woods and I can have her when she is done. So I will be in a hurry to build my turkey pen by the end of this week! Did I mention these are free!!!!! Oh yeah.
Speeking of free, I got a call from Bothell Feed center today. Apparently somone dropped off a Black Cochin mix rooster. Not sure this is what he is but he looks a lot like Jaxx my Black Cochin that I just sold. But this guy is smaller and has a beard and muffs. Anyways, who ever dropped this poor guy off put him in a tote with a mesh lid, no water or food, but soaked him in water first. They have no idea how long he was out there baking in this box in the sun. I am their go to person if somone has roosters or chickens that they don't want. This guy is very sweet, has no problem being cought or held. But he is very happy to be out of that box now. He is in my quarenteen area for now then he will be let out with the girls.

Hope you all got to enjoy the sunshine today!

3 of my chickens just jumped up and grabbed a cookie out of my hand and ran away with it! Lesson learned: Chickens are people too and need treats

I cut off a piece of summer sausage from our loaf in the fridge and brought it out to them. One by one they are stealing it and running ALL over the yard chasing each other. Nothing like a little fun and exercise huh?

Yes, and Bobcats, weasels & possums...the raptors are the biggest issue as the other predators mainly show up at dusk, and we look our coops at dusk.
Raptors can get your birds all day long!
And probably the worst predator is roaming droves of domestic dogs out having a "fun" time.
