Okay, still can't figure out quotes, so I'll just refer back to FireWifeJess and a conversation she was having with someone about age of self and age of kids. I'm with the Army retiree with small kids. Our life was weird, and so we're pretty old for the ages of our kids, too. I was 36 and my husband 45 when we adopted our son, and I was 39 when we had our daughter. My husband gets a lot of , "What lovely grandchildren you have!" but it's all good. They were worth waiting for. I sometimes wish I could play with them on the floor and not worry about whether my knees will let me get up again...There ARE pluses to having kids when you're still young!

Hope everyone enjoyed the nice, sunny day today. The chickies did a lot of sunbathing today!

LOL!
I was a younger parent. Now at 45, my youngest will graduate next year. My brother is 42 and just now having his second child (the first is 7). Its funny because me, my husband, my brother and his wife are really close. Well we are always doing stuff, going out, and they are like "we can't we have the kids". I always say "ya, thats what you said 20 years ago to us". LOL

I think there are no right or wrong age. Just what works for you:)

So...how old are you? I kinda think you can't be that old, your kids are pretty young still ;) I'm 29

LOL! Well, of course I'm 29 and holding, and holding, and holding - and then some!

My kids keep me young. Or make me older... not quite sure. Cheap hair dye is the greatest invention on earth. Just sayin!

Lovely, my daughter is sitting here saying "Mom! You are NOT 29!" LOL!

That's hilarious! She totally busted you! LOL

Oh and I didn't mean that old(er) (than me) people shouldn't have kids...it's just typical to have kids before you're "old" if that makes sense. Believe it or not, I had 3 kids before I was 27, my sister had 5 kids before she was 30, leaving my very young parents with 8 grandchildren before they were 53 and 55! I like being young now and growing up with my kids but there is definitely something to be said about waiting too. DH and I never really had a good chance to enjoy each other and have fun before #1 came along....let's just say he was quite a happy accident and by our 1st anniversary I was carting around a 6 week old out to dinner

Yeah things have changed alot...even in the 6yrs of living here. Not to mention I used to work up here from 02-04' & fell in love with this place, it changed alot from then too. Myers Rd is still dangerous to try to make the turn from 410 just before the Dairy Queen light. Its in the middle of the hill & you have to cross 2 lanes of traffic going 45+mph.
Everyone in our neighborhood that have been here a long while have said our road, (64th) use to be gravel & its hilly so it was a bear to get out in snow or ice. So they pathed it & put speed bumps...even harder to get out during snow & ice. Also since 64th isn't in Bonney Lake the city doesn't take care of it but it is connected to 182nd which is in Bonney Lake so the city comes down 64th doing nothing to it to come & work all in Bonney Lake. Real annoying. Oh yeah the city always wasted their money to put up "Adopt the Road" signs just on the roads in the Bonney Lake area all down our road. We are back roads, why do we need Adopt the Road signs? Makes no since.

Shannon

Myers road has always been bad. Our school bus use to have to take it, and there were many times we were late getting home because of it. On winter days, it was just plain scary. Even today, some of those back roads just make no sense how they twist and turn.

A few years back we looked at a house just off Myers road. I couldn't do it. I just couldn't imagine commuting out of that area again over the winter.

(IMO)

OK so here's the scoop: Princess seems alright. Except she's not.

I know something is wrong but just can't figure out what! I tried desperately to look down her throat tonight but couldn't see anything out of place, so I don't think she has gapeworms. About half the time she breaths with her mouth open, but not gaping wide, just about 1/4" open. Yes it was a warm day for the girls but everyone else was cool and not panting, and there she was panting. She was absolutely frantic to free-range outside the run with everyone else though, even though they pick on her, and she loved it! But every once in a while she'd just stop in her tracks and breathe hard with her mouth open. She's adorable in the way she follows Ricky around because he's the only nice one to her.

Wuv. Twue wuv! She has been on antibiotics for a day and a half and Sulmet switched to Corid for 3 days. Do I just need to stop over thinking all this and leave the heck alone? Right now, to ensure she drinks enough, I have her in the basement in a dog crate with her medicated water. I think I'll set her on the roost before I go to bed though as she really seems to like being with everyone else. Suggestions??

Most of my friends that I went to high school with have kids who have either graduated high school, some have even graduated college. Most of the girls I hang out with now are about 10 years younger than I am and they don't have a clue I'm as old as I am. Some, when they have found out, don't believe me. I think that's funny. I've been told I look young for my age.

I had a pretty long career before I had kids.

My favorite moment was when I moved my mom to a retirement center and my mom was asked if I was her grand-daughter. I started calling my mom "Grandma" after that. Not too sure mom appreciated the comment as much as I did.

I wish I could help you, but I don't know what to suggest!

I am glad Ricky is being a gentleman, he is such a sweet boy!

I miss him!

I'm so glad we have him! He's super cute. I am anxiously awaiting a crow

Not to mislead you though...he still pecks Princess into her proper place at the very bottom of the totem pole, but they're still buddies. She even tries her hardest to tuck herself under him!

It's adorable! I think he's thinking "Hey lady! I'm a GUY! NOT your mama!"

Did I mention we bought primer for the coop and run today, and 20 bags of sand? I shoveled 1200lbs of sand into the run this evening all by myself. I'm super woman
yesss.gif
And guess what? That's nowhere near enough sand for the run. Another 20 would suffice. Another 30 would be pretty awesome.

NOT getting more for a while, my body is mad.
