Thank You Chickielady!! You have been there this whole time helping me do this and it was a very sad day!! The hubs had to get in the car and leave for a bit he was so upset!!! Thanks for your kind words and hugs!!

I have discovered the perfect "tool" to keep the "girls" out of my garden. A tweeter/blower/horn....whatever you want to call it...those things from birthday parties. The girls hate the noise. They hate it even more when I run out the back door, tweeting my tweeter and flapping my arms. WOW...everyone went running all upset. They stayed out of my vegetable garden for the rest of the evening.

Hi everyone,
Sorry some of you are having problems with disease. I saw the posts last night and didn't think they were out of line. I'm kind of glad I decided to not add to mine this year.

Imp-Hoping for a better summer, for us all.

Are your veggies cold and washed away yet?

We got a light FROST up here last night...it was 38 when I left for work!

It was quite the SCARY sight I am sure. I woke up this morning to hear the fans in the orchard going so I was really scared that it had frosted...my tomatoes and pepper plants are barely hanging on as it is now...they are tired of the rain and no sun. I think that the fans were going to blow the rain off though. You are quite a bit higher in elevation than me. Did you lose any veggies?

OK I must know how you "discovered" that that noise did it ???
I also want to tell you that chickens are born with a genetic fear of a broom !!!
I can put mine next to my lettuce patch and they walk far around it.
big_smile.png

If they are heading for the lettuce I can pick up my broom and just stand on the porch (50 yards away) and hold the broom...not swinging it or anything...and my big girls will immediately set off in another direction knowing full well big mama is not happy about their doings !!!

Maybe is goes back to the heath dwelling days !!!

Seriously, pick up a broom next time your girls are heading to the lettuce patch, and watch what they do !
