Quote: Yes, it will be very hard when he goes soon, but it will be so much better for him.
Quote: No, I shot the skunk, and then it released when it died. GAG!! BUT what I did was mix half a bottle of Lever 2000 Pure Rain body wash with a quart of Hydrogen Peroxide in a bucket, dumped the solution on the skunk, trap, and surrounding dirt, waited a little bit, then I dumped the skunk into a Glad ForceFlex bag with Febreeze scent (which is NOT scented enough to keep the skunk smell out of your nose, but it worked well enough, good thing trash pick up is tomorrow morning!) THEN I took an entire box of Arm n Hammer pet odor eliminator powder for carpets, in fresh rain scent, and sprinkled the whole area...waiting for the impending rain to do it's job with that. By the time I was sprinkling that stuff I could breathe normally, it still reeked, but didn't make me![]()
A large bottle/can of tomato juice probably would have eliminated the odourdelux![]()
Well I hoped on over to this page and left a bit of myself there. Of corse when it came time to type all I wanted to say, it just kind of went away. So not everything I wanted to say is there but I will go back if I remember it.
I do agree that she needs to go into detail about what we do, but the "free range" that I think she is talking about (from what I gathered) is the industrial egg producers that have gotten ahold of some the more sot after terms of rasing chickens and use the term "free rangeing chickens" on their lables for eggs in the store to try and make people think that they are humain to their chickens. There are some places that do allow the chickens acsess to out side areas but the conditions can be so bad that the chickens don't even want to go out side.
I do hope that some of you also go there and give your input.

Quote: that is 2 Tbls of the solution right? or of straight bleach? And yep, forgot you had said 2 for sick birds. I have so much stuff "bookmarked" or printed off when I learn important stuff on BYC.
SadieSue, you need to reserve your tickets online. You can't show up and expect to get in when you get there. I bought tickets a week before for noon on Monday. When we got there, they were booked all day up to 4pm.I am really hoping I can get to the King Tut exhibit before it leaves. DD is home from Italy tomorrowand I think she and I will just hop the bus to Seattle so we can get up there before it's gone. I LOVE taking the bus to Seattle. Only $6 round trip, I don't have to drive in Seattle traffic and pay for parking.![]()
Quote: Oh, my gosh...now I will have to remember. I just remember how smelly it was. I am not sure I ever told anyone this...but husband went to pick up carcasses the next day and a few still alive skunks actually hauled the bodies off. How weird is that?
