Does anyone here have an extra king bed frame in the garage you don't need? Our mattress sits on the floor for now because another bed in the house needed our bed frame. So now I wake up with spider bites all over on a fairly routine basis. It's awful. I'm highly allergic to spider bites and have 3 on my thighs right now the size of golf balls...and growing daily. LMK if you have a bed or frame that would work!

Well, we weighed the chickies today. Drama (my 12-week-old Light Brahma) weighed in at 4.0 lbs. I can't believe that she's not even half the size she's going to be. She towers over the other two. Honestly, I'm beginning to think she may not fit in the coop.

She looks rather large to be in there already.

It was funny, Caunnie (my EE) is desperately trying to be the top of the pecking order right now. Drama doesn't seem to care about any of that stuff. She's the bottom and she seems happy-go-lucky about it. Caunnie keeps trying to chest bump with both of them, and when she chest bumps Drama, Drama just straightens up and Caunnie ends up flopping back. It's obvious Drama doesn't have a clue that Caunnie is threatened by her at all.

Hello all, I'm looking for a home for my "boys", Bruce and Olive. I live in Seattle where roosters are banned, and 2/8 chicks turned out to be guys. Bruce is an Easter Egger (who just started to test out his vocal cords today... ) and Olive is a Speckled Sussex (though we were told Welsummer when we got him as a chick!). I'm more than willing to drive out of the city to re-home them! They are friendly and have been very spoiled! They are both almost 13 weeks.

How did you weigh them? I would like to weigh mine too! They all seem so different, I think it will be interesting to see how much they are now. How much did your others weigh?

Wow! Go check out this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...me-they-told-me-to-get-rid-of-my-chickens/120 The OP came back and told us what was going on. She replies in post 125.

I first wanted chickens after learning about what happens to laying hens and meat birds in commercial companies. The more I learn, the more I wish I could raise meat birds for a few months in my own back yard!

Probably one flock or two is all it would take to fill the freezer for a good long time. But, yeah... that'll never happen. Not unless we can find a way to move.

I had my son weigh himself on a scale outside. Then I handed him each bird and we weighed him a second time.

Drama weighed 4.0 lbs.
Caunnie weighed 3.4 lbs.
Rhodie weighed 3.2 lbs.
