This was my first hike in years. And You would think living in Granite Falls I would have been to the ice caves but nope. And there is no over night camping there.

We have chicks & a broody and chicks! Thanks so much and great meeting you, SadieSue and RisingStar!

Oh, and 5 of the eggs that went through the USPS crushing dept are developing!

It was good to meet you too, although brief! Tough to have a decent visit when you have kids and chicks in a hot car though. Glad you all got home safely and I'm looking forward to photos of your new flock! It will be fun to see how that blue boy grows up.

And YAY on 5 developing eggs!

Well I listed the cockeral for sale (only $5) on CL; figured if I "sell" him he's more likely to be given a good home than sent to freezer camp. Guess if he doesn't sell and I still need him gone we could process him ourselves? eesh. Just the thought of that makes me sad. I am worried to break the news to DH that I'm now going to replace him with 2 pullets sometime in the next few weeks.

I really wanted a dozen layers and by george I'll have them!!

That's how I found the coop.

Thought I'd check Craigs for you if you hadn't.

Thanks! I sent the owner an e-mail asking if he/she would mind letting me know where they got that one. I can't tell sizes in pictures, but that one looked like it was a small one. Haven't heard back from them yet. I hope they'll respond.

We took our Camp Fire USA group hiking to the ice caves a couple of years ago. I can't remember the name of the camp ground we stayed in, but it didn't seem too far away. It was a lot of fun!

Back in the late 60's there weren't as many people or rules! No there was NO camp spots up there but we would back pack in and set up our one and two man tents. Nobody ever said anything. In fact most the time when we were there we didn't see anybody!. Thats why I hate to go anywhere today. too many crowds, and I can't get anybody to push my wheelchair

Renee what about this one...shipping is pretty cheap too! It's also a thermometer and clock, just stake it into the ground next to the coop. Cute!

That is cute. And it looks small, too. I wonder if DH could find someone at work who could weld it onto a plate that would fit the peak of the coop. Hmmmm. I'll have to ask him. Thanks Jessica!
