Looking to adopt a bantam Frizzle Cochin rooster! I figured I would try here before craigslist.

If I wormed my flock 7 days ago, should I be expecting to see worms in their poop? Ricky just squatted to poop and half came out and a long white slimy strand was hanging out of his rear. He stayed squatting and more poop came out then he walked away. Sorry, I know that's gross, and I really had hoped they didn't have worms and I'd done it preventatively (at that point I was really reaching for treatments for my oddly behaving flock), but I'm pretty sure he just dropped an almost dead round worm with his poop. I know I need to worm again in 3 days, are there any concerns with anything I just described? Also, do we have a lot of worm problems here? I didn't think that we'd be a huge worm area because it's not a warm climate, but apparently the dampness affects it a lot too?

What did you worm them with? I think Most people on here use Eprinex..kills the worms but NOT the eggs so ya have to do it again in 7 days to get the eggs that hatched but no egg withdrawl with Eprinex

Anyone use Eprinex on their cat? Like, for fleas? Or could that be deadly? I was gonna check dosage and just go for it but I guess I should wait for an answer from someone who has done it before, instead of killing the cat

Hello to the new members! I'm just checking in - I'm heading back up from Oregon tomorrow.

Yesterday I called the vet to schedule the rainbow bridge connection for Felix (the Persian) on Monday. Only to find out from my DH last night that Felix went there on his own

RIP my fluffy, quiet boy.

My girlfriend's cat, whom I haven't seen all week since I've been here, decided to sleep with me (ON me is more like it) all night last night. I swear it is crazy how animals sense things.

DH says the chickens, peafowl, and peachicks are all doing fine. I've been worried about them in this heat (mainly because FWJ dotes on hers and I feel like I'm a deserter!) But he's been giving them fresh water every day and we have enough shade around that he doesn't feel he has to run home from work to check on them. (He is why I bought the pop door - WHAT A LIFESAVER!!)

Chewie, the DF's cat, just crawled up on my chest and now I can't see the laptop while I type. Time to enjoy kitty love!!

Aww, I'm just a noob and don't know what the heck I'm doing and don't want to kill my birds...you're a great chicken mama! I've even relaxed since last week and today I didn't even turn on the fan in the run or the coop. They've had enough time to adjust

Ah...Fern gap. What do you think, I'm from Randle or something? Figured my grammar was better than all that. No, I lived in Mineral. Randle is the middle of nowhere, whereas Mineral is more like the outskirts of nowhere.

Incidentally, I drove through Ony today to go to Centralia (or "Out Town" as we say in the East End), and I thought of you. Looks like good chicken rustlin' territory.

Welcome to everyone new I am new also i got my first chickens in march. i now have 65 chickens and 5 ducks.i have wyandottes, rir, barred rocks, black australorps,and the coolest of all 3 little fluffy silkies. they are so much fun to watch they think they are so big,they look at my hens like do not bother me. I also have learned so much here since joining. Hope to keep learning and rising chickens.
