Hi Everyone,
I am in Puyallup WA, it's near Tacoma. I just got my first 5 baby chicks last week and we love them! We have named all five, and I believe they are getting to know their names already. They are growing fast and so pretty. I got an assortment, they look like barred rock, black astrolope, auracana, rhode island red, and americana (I know I probably spelled those wrong, sorry). I'm guessing, of course, but that is what I think they are. They are all mixed breed and they will lay wonderful eggs for us later on. Hope none turn out to be roosters, those can't stay in our neighborhood. We also have a small dog (poodle/shih-tzu) and she guarded the baby chicks all night the first night we brought them home, lol.

OK so guys...I have to tell you about this awesome thing I'm using to remove a mole or two. One time, and one time only, did I have a mole CUT out by surgery and IT CAME BACK. So now I'm trying natural stuff. It's called C-Herb by NatureMadeOrganics.com and I think it's working! You should totally go there and check out what it does...seriously, it forces your own immune system to reject the tissue and push it out of your body. Awesome. I'll let you know if it works for sure, but I'm pretty sure it's going well.

Welcome!! I'm in Covington, we should get together. There might be others closer to you, but I'm still pretty new to chickens. We have 13; 12 pullets and 1 cockeral. Glad to have you, stick around and you'll learn a lot from these peeps!

Well at least one of my girls is not a laze about. I got my very 1st egg today. Small, but perfectly formed and a nice med mahogony color. It's a beginning!


Another thing I learned today. Even though the gals like to be petted, never ever sit down with them when you have just finished mowing the lawn and have grass bits clinging to your t shirt or jeans.

Congrats on the 1st egg! My chickens like the freckles on my shin today :lol

We are in Lakewood but are up in Covington a lot. I blame our friends in Covington for getting us into chickens!

We will be processing the rest of the birds hopefully next Saturday. If any one want to come and see how to butcher, you are more than welcome to stop by this coming Saturday. Even if DH doesn't make it home I think that I will do the deed one way or another.  

So, is that today, or next Saturday (7/28)?  And, are you processing in Enumclaw?  If so, I'll try to come to watch and learn.

It will be Saturday the 28th. We did most of our meat birds yesterday, with FlyRobin. But some of our meaties weren't really as big as I would prefer, so we are giving them another week. I am hoping that I can make the trip out to Raymond to pick up the plucker from ChickieLady on this coming Thursday. You are more than welcome to come and join us. I will PM you the address. 


Rain wolf has extra roos that I believe she was offering to those that would like to process a bird of their own. 

Yes I have some bantam roos that need to go of mixed breed.... they are small but good for learning the culling process. Little harder to clean if you have big hands but I like the size since it is perfect for small meals of 1 or 2 people.

I can come get both of the Saturday morning if you just want them gone I would love to practice on them...and I have small hands. You're in Renton?

I live by northagte mall... North Seattle.

I would also like to try and get one of my roosters down south... any chance on a train from north to south?
