I want to go get my chickens and ducks... but hubby just wants to sleep. Go figure. Here I am in my new house and missing my babies and wanting them here in their brand new pen and silly hubby wants to sleep, lol.

Guess we are going to go get them and bring them home later today. I''ve been a week now without my babies and all the lovely noises they make. wah wah wah.

My new house is nice and I am loving it. well except the landlady is a bit wierd at times. She tells me I can do what I want in the yard and plant what I want. Then freaks out because I might hurt her plants which she plans on digging up and moving sometime. ugh!!!! one day she says to take out this rose bush because she doesn't want it and it is a volunteer. So we do and when she comes to get her fridge she gets upset because she wanted it and now I am going to kill it because we dug it up. Oh and put it in a pot so it wouldn't die. Talk about major frustration.... Guess I am not digging or anything till she gets it done herself and when city throws a fit bout how the yard looks and the trees hanging over the house and the street I can tell them to tallk to her right????

DAng I want hubby to wake up so I can go get my birds! lol

Howdy folks, I'm on Union Hill and I raise Icelandic chickens. I picked Icelandic chickens because I'm an Icelandic chick myself! Here are some pics of my homestead flock, they're still young, 6-7 months old.

This is Prímus:

And his ladies, Kara, Skráma, and Sirrí:

There are a few more photos in my album, from when they were younger in https://www.backyardchickens.com/gallery/image/view/id/5224211/album/6120001

They are awesome birds, very active, curious, and friendly. I love them so much, I could watch their backyard antics all day long

Hey, if anyone is coming to Ione for Down River Days this weekend, stop by my store and say Hi!
The BYC is going to run a sale on BYC stuff and I will have some clearance items there as well!

We are located at 410 Main St in Ione right across from the Post Office. Look for the BYC banner!

Lots to do this weekend. Street dance, Lions Train Rides, Snowmobile races across the river, vendors in the park and more!

Snowmobile races across the river, How does that work?

You get a head start and run your snowmobile across the river. If you sink, they fish you out and you lose. If you make it across the river, you win. :)

I've been working on some stuff for me :) I built a very small coop that DW calls "Mamma's house". It's a small coop and run to let a broody do her thing. I'm also should finish a project this afternoon. It is a set of 4 wire-bottomed cages that I will use to break broody's. (I have 6

The last two weeks have been really hectic. Thing should get back to normal pace starting today.

Well -- I've managed to not cut up for other projects, the half-sheet of plywood I need to make the prototype :) I've also researched the hardware (binding posts is boring research). Let's just say, "They are still on my list"

We had one really cool lighting storm around July 10th. No flooding. I live in the desert on purpose.

Mike - congrats on the first egg. I remember how excited I was. Good for you !

No way to keep up :) I skim a lot of posts. Jump right in, post when you like, read what you like (did I mention that I skim a lot of posts?). After a few weeks it will really start to feel like the thread slows down a bit.
How did you quote so many posts in on?
