I am really happy to know that I am not the only person that thinks of things like this. One should also never sit outside with their dinner while the chickens are out and about. They will find you and do their very best to forcibly take your food away. If you're bored and need entertainment, you can always chase a family member out of the house while they're eating and release the chickens. I highly recommend it.
Just another comment on Foxglove... in Washington, it is considered a noxious weed and is supposed to be destroyed. I know... it's pretty, but, I'm sure the state has it's reasons for classifying it as such.

Quote: Okay I will admit to being squeamish and girly girl about some things. I am not sure why I wear gloves when processing my own birds, but I don't have any problems with cleaning out a store bought bird. (It's probably the amount of warm guts, as opposed to cold leftover bits.)
DH has some super thick latex gloves that work fairly well. I still have to watch things and they don't tend to last very long with my long acrylic nails. I think I am going to get some Nitrile gloves for this weekend. They are a bit tougher.
We will have to be very careful with the very very sharp knives no matter what.
I have no idea! I sure hope he's having fun. The camp doesn't let parents contact the kids. They've found kids will adapt better if they don't. If he's homesick, they will wait 2 days before they contact us - then we can talk to him and decide if he stays on or not. Hopefully, by 2 days in, he'll be fine.Renee - how are you holding up without DS1? Is he having fun??
