Hi, can I join? I just signed up for this site and I'm having a blast reading all the forums. I'm in Lewis County, on the WET side. I've had chickens forever, since I was a child, but now I'm exploring ducks. I look forward to getting to know a few of you.

LEWIS COUNTY ! ! !

ya mean I have neighbors ????

Well you are going to need to be hear around noon to 12:30pm. It isn't really graphic because the bird is in the cone. I will do my best to make sure that you don't get hurt to bad if you pass out though. There are enough of us that we should be able to keep an eye on you.

The kids from next door are going to join us also. The oldest boy is very interested in hunting, so he needs to learn what it's really like to kill a animal and plan on eating it.
Your oldset boy needs to get over here come fall deer season.................I hopefully will have a place to put him up & YES he will learn alot from the OLD LADY !!!

We have buried treasure though out our front flower beds. I must say that the gardens have never been this lush before in the nearly 20 years that we have owned the house. We would plant more things in the back yard flower beds, but we don't want to have to beat poor Jet and the nasty little dogs completely senseless.
There is no such thing as buried treasure when you are processing this many birds.
Unless of course you have an excavator.

I want an excavator ...........

I'm thinking I need to send my husband to the processing class, and I'll stay home and eat bon bons, or build chicken coops... or something less grotesque!

Wrong.....face the music that makes the world go round.
Every human in the world needs to know exactly how their FOOD is processed, and learn to PROVIDE for your family instead of liviing on processed garbage.
Years from now we will see a stark difference in diseases, including Autism...and Cancers.....due to the fact of People growing their OWN FOOD.
Not just meat, but veggies as welll.......and get SOLAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super Cool, eh ?

P.S. There is a Koi pond to the LEFT of this frame, and that is why there is netting over the pond...............Kingfishers and wadding birds eat the koi.........so all our ponds were covered.

Welcome!
It moves very fast here in this thread. Sometimes you just have to skim and skip ahead.

I grew up with a hunter, too. Then I married one. I've seen a lot of gross stuff - I've just never actually done the deed myself. I was usually the kid in the corner crying "Mom, don't let him do that!". I've seen bear, deer, elk and even a moose hanging in the garage. And, of course, rabbits, the occasional sheep (where the heck did he get that... my mom didn't even know). My step-dad even 3 bear taxidermy'd. Good grief! He had 1 full mount, 1 half mount and a bear skin rug. Considering he shot them with a bow and arrow, I guess I should have been impressed. I was more embarrassed than impressed! The last bear he shot was a with a longbow he made himself. When he died, his request was to have his bear skin rug as a coffin cover. He was was one strange dude.

I'm so glad DH is just a bird hunter. His largest game is turkey. We have a taxidermy'd Wood Duck hanging on our wall. When we went to Sea World, we were looking at a pond and youngest DS saw a wood duck and yelled loudly - "Mom, that looks just like the dead duck that's hanging in our family room." Oh boy... the stares and glares from people around me...
