Ugh - I was not thinking at all...I wormed him last week...just knowing I'd find him a home.

I can't eat him, and neither can anyone else, for 28 days from last Thursday.

Luckiest rooster ever...I had the water boiled and everything.

Now instead of processing, I'll be walking around to the neighbors houses to explain the crowing and beg them not to call the chicken police LOL

In the meantime...PM me if you want an adorable boy!
Well darn it! If you weren't 4hrs away I would come get him!
Well, I could barely understand her. Anyway, she came and bought some ducks, a dozen eggs, and then asked himself if we had any trees for sale, and pointed to out cedars. Himself said no, she couldn't have any of our trees, but then I thought perhaps she wanted "wood". So I took her to the wood pile and she nodded frantically. So, we got rid of all the unwanted wood from the removal of a horrid old maple. Pity we don't have a wood burning fireplace, but oh well. . .
Ah, bless her heart! That's gotta be so hard to not be able to communicate.

Can y'all recommend any awesome feed stores or other poultry supplies places in the South Sound? We are in Rochester, which is about a sneeze south of Olympia. So anywhere from about Vancouver-ish up to Tacoma/Fife would be great. Aside from Dells, for example, somewhere with a lot of nifty stuff and options available.

Thanks much in advance!

I drive from Raymond to Elma once a week to visit parents (and "do" Aberdeen shopping on the way) and we go to Elam Feed, which is deep a few block into town rather than on the main drag...back by Les Swab's....they carry Palouse Rolled Oats & "PayBack" brand feed which I really like, good prices too.
Payback brand pellets are small, half the size of Purina Pellets, which my birds will not eat, but they love payback pellets.
Check it out.
Not alot of "goodies" for poultry, but they have alot of stuff for horses.
I get my compressed straw at Dennis Company here in Raymond...very nice soft flattened out straw.

Yes, neck, back, closed head injury. Wasn't able to talk right, think, write words, memory, etc. Lot of that has come back.
But I doubt my neck will ever be the same. Hoping all my memory works good again.
Good news is I'm blessed to have recovered the amount I have as some never come out of it.
Hopefully you are getting lost wages ?
Times are tough enough right now without loosing the family's income !

Good morning everyone =) I just came inside from physically placing chickens in nest boxes LOL Most of them were yelling at the one hen already trying to lay her egg...so I went outside and put a chicken in each from the door end. Because they all have curtains on the boxes - this seems to work? My backyard is currently quiet - finally LOL

Last chance for the Brabanters cockerel - free to you if you can get it today and tell me about it this morning - he's getting processed as soon as hubby finishes errands in the next couple hours. I would rather he had a good home, he's such a sweet guy.

CUTE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the slate shanks & feet & yeller toenails !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and more joy:
Turns out our contractor for the roof trusses is none other than CR's nephew who just got married and is now off gallivanting on his HoneyMoon somewhere for the next 2 weeks~~~~~~~~~~~
Great.
So DH (Einstein) is having yet one more contractor come bid the job, and if it is a higher bid, we will have to waite for CR's nephew to come back home & get the job done.

@3!*&!!!** ?!*%$#@!!!!!!!

Guess we know how to pick 'em...would have been seriously NICE if the newly married contractor had told us he was gonna be gone right when he was to start working !!!

TC:::::::::::::::::: Did you ever fix the boat ?
I told Einstein what happened, and he interupted me & said "Did their dog hit the kill switch ??????????"
Every boat has one, he said, and if you bump it, everything will go DEAD.
Just wondered & wondered if you got back the crab traps you had set out.
