It is interesting that you haven't found any Komondork nearby. The Komondor that won New Westminster best in group 1993 was from the Centralia-Cheahlis area of Washington. I don't know of anyone that are raising AKC Komondork in Washington right now. the closest would be in Abbotsford, BC. I could always e-mail the new letters editor and ask her. If anyone would know it would be Lynn. I know the addresses for most of the major breeder in the USA also.

We keep Puppy sheared down because of his skin allergies. As far as I can tell it is not food related. It is environmental, and is made worse by his coat. This was one of the reasons we finally broke down and put in a walk in shower in the main bathroom of our house. I can't wait for the other shower head to arrive so that I can wrassle him into the shower for a purple shampoo and solid scrub.

PS I spelled Komondor and Komondork correctly. Komondork is the plural of Komondor. It's a Hungarian thing. We have a number of joke about dorks at our house.

I understand the eating local thing, and also eating what your ancestors ate, but what happens when you are a multi generational mutt? I am part of a family that has been in the country for the over 300 years, and they each married people from different countries.
I am so not going to eat a diet of lentils and lutefisk (Norwegian spelling). The lentils might not be to bad, but everyday would be more than my poor American soul could handle. And if just generational living counts. Then wheat, and dairy would be something that I should be able to eat. Maybe not on my mothers side she ate things like lima beans and offal.

Oh wait maybe she just likes those things.

I am a firm believer in eating from the outside of a grocery store, or better from what you can grow yourself.

lilrabbit, the eggbid ad is for 25 pullets.
I already PM'd her and asked if she would sell me eggs and she sai no.
Weird, huh ?
You think someone selling chicks would not mind but she said they do not sell eggs, too much of a hassle to wrap each one...easier to ship pullets ?

Oh well, I keep looking~~~

I will be sending warm fuzz that way. My DH has taught me to worry about hauling things. We have always made it, but he always over engineers things too. I am jealous of your apricots. I had thoughts about popping over Chinook Pass and picking up a few boxes of apricots and some peaches. Then I have stop and realize that it isn't going to happen this week for me. There is no way I am up to canning fruit this week. I didn't even get the eggs out of the coop today. I am a bad chicken mother. I did feed them.
