I forgot to mention, the Maker's Diet is somewhat similar to Nourishing Traditions, he's just limited his stuff to what they were allowed to eat biblically while the NT book encourages that stuff. I do better eating the way these books recommend so I have them both. I love Half Price Books!

Good Girl !!!!
But soaking wheat does not remove the gluten.
It is the long stringy cells of the gluten that holds bread together, and I used to make all my own, I have awesome recipes for Home made breads.
I have found I cannot even use the same cutting board as DH even after I scrub it down. Tiny microscopic pieces of it stick in the valleys of the digestive system and my immunal system scalds me from lips to ....well, you know.
Another post that may or may not be edited for fowl language

However, I am sick, and gotta check out for a few days but will probably keep the 23-24th date.

I have several gluten free friends and one with celiac so I try to be aware of what I bring to certain functions (which has taught me a little about both these issues. ) Knowing how sensitive people can be I won't even grind non gluten flours in any of my mills since they've all had wheat go through them. If anyone here develops an issue where we need to be a bit more extreme I'll invest in a dedicated mill but for now I'll just use the blender if I need to.

Hope you feel better very, very quickly!

I strongly suggest you get an Atkins diet book and READ it and go about the Atkins firts diet.
This diet allows NO CARBs for a week or two, it is called "Induction" and after that, well, you will know.
If I am scalded by wheat, it takes me 3 weeks to recover, a week to be in agony, a week to be plain sick and unable to get out of bed, and have zero energy (breathing is a chore) and the last week I get steadily stronger and after 3 weeks I wake up and feel magnificent.
I cannot believe how BAD I feel when it is bad and how wonderful and stamina filled I feel when I am well.
To applesauce with wheat, rye, barely and contaminated oats, and who really wants meat tenderizer (MSG--lutamit) ?
Seriously, when OK I can dig a 3 foot deep trench a foot wide and 65 feet long NON STOP with shovel and pick ax...and when I am sick I can barely breath, I have to take steroids for that.
Now remember I have only been diagnosed 2 years, all my life I have tried to figure out what the yearly increasing intestinal pain was (does everyone have this pain ?) and the ever swelling waistline.
When I was younger there were no outward clues, cept the red-purple bags under my eyes, even in 2 and 3 year old photos of me, the awful bags, they are a super clue to immunal allergies called " shiners, allergic shiners" search that and read up.
And read "the glutan free girl " from beginning to end.
And understand that this took a lifetime to make me so sick I cannot THINK, at 20 or 30 I felt OK< just had shiners and a fat waistline....and always tired. Always.

For me it seemed almost over night! I all of a sudden puked up EVERYTHING! Though it was the flu. Lost 40Lbs in 1 month and went to the doc. After hell and a half I ended up in the hospital. After 4 docs I finally got a good one! Colonoscopy later and ulcerative colitis and cancerous palops! Sent to nutritionist, oncologist, urologist. Doing much better! Still doing a low dose chemo that kicks my butt some days but much better!

Went the naturalpathic route on some things. Saw a specialist in Mexico. YEAH! Yes they do have some really great docs down here! Now a rice with cinnamon drink called Horchata and a tea called Jaimica made from hibiscus flower are my best friends!! AND I can get them both in the states too!

I have a hereditary blood disorder that causes low immune functions so it is a constant balancing act but this made the world of difference!

I am with you girls!

FREE THE WORLD OF PROCESSED FOODS! WE WOULD FEEL MUCH BETTER!!!!

Hurray for you T !!!!!
I also want to mention that before I quit wheat (processed or not) which was 52 years of my life, I had horrid cold sores, awful strept throat at least 6 times a year so bad I could not swallow and feared for my life, tonsilitis, and outrageous blistering on the skin that appeared overnight and looked and felt like scalding water was poured on me...also had derma grafica, evidence that the immunal system was attacking the throat, the skin, eveything.
I did not have any strpt infection.
I had a weak allergy to a pollen for example and my ballistic immunal system attacked, and when it attacks the "bugs" it blows up alot of you too ! It was so bad within a few days I could barely breathe, pnuemonia said I ...no said the doc, steroid inhaler is what he gave me and within 1 day I was FINE, no bloody throat, swallowing just fine.
See ?
It is your body's defensive system attacking what it percieves to be invaders.
Google "auto immune diseases and disorders", read up on them, it will blow your mind.
We were never meant to evolve this fast. Eat whole foods, only in season and from your country of your origin.
Did you hear about the Irish potato famine ?
And the ever-loving Brits sent in truckloads of wheat to the starving Irish,, and within a few days, half of Ireland was sick, hospitalised...it was then they discovered it and labeled this a disease of the celtic peoples.
Wrong... this disease happens to any who eat foods not native to them, and we are global now, all peoples in different countries where there is foods and substances we have not evolved to digest, and so we get sick.
Imagine your throat as a highway..cars are driving along and your immunal system does not like them, never see them before and so is now "sensitized" against them (and made a "blueprint " of this car) they are the enemy, wether it be bee sting, gluten, or any other protein, the immunal system attack as a helicopter and drops bombs on the cars which blow up, but take alot of the asphalt with them on explosion, and that is why you get a sore throat when you have a cold or flu.
It is not the germs that hurt your throat, it is your immunal system sterilizing the area of what it feels is the invader.
That invader can be the lining of your nerves (MS) or your intestines (Celiac disease) and thousands of other diseases.
Talk tomorrow, love you all!

yes, tell me when to meet her that week, and Monicas said she was getting chicks from BYF, so I have to pick them all up at the same time at her workplace.

the questionable pullet which has to be a pullet but just has not grown any upright tail feathers yet ?
Crummy picture, missed the comb, which is paler than the other...weird.
Gotta be a pullet.

How do you take a picture of my roo?
hu.gif
At least I think it's a roo, it's trying to make really odd sounds now.

Okay here a picture of my little puppy dog and DH.

Aren't they real cute. By the way DH is 6'4" and over 200lbs.

I will have to think about the food thing. I will try almost anything. I don't have many of the same symptoms that have been described. But what the heck, it won't hurt to try. The vegan diet gave me a great spaghetti sauce recipe and not much else. I may very well find a few more great recipes. I do tend to cook mostly from scratch. I have been cooking now for nearly 40 years. I started very young cooking for a family of 9 people. I think that's why I don't understand small.

I sympathize on the crown thing. I was getting a build up on a old crown just last week. At least I am able to go by myself. I was in the chair for a full 2 hours. I hate it. I already had to pay off another crown this year. I am not sure how I am going to get this one paid for.
