I think Roxy is a Rocky...and the one behind him in the second picture looks to be a cute little boy too. They're only 8 weeks, both of them?
Awww, darn it. I really wanted Roxy to be a girl..pooo. That is Spike behind, the white and black. We knew he was a boy a while ago.

So that makes 2 boys out of five chicks. And I'm suspecting that we might have a third boy, I will try to take a pic later.

That will only leave me with two hens, but I guess that's better than none, lol.

Thanks :)

Does anyone have Cheryl98117's phone #? I know a woman from the Northwest Serama Facebook group who lives in Graham and is VERY interested in "Tank", Cheryl's Basset Hound. I PM'd Cheryl, but I know how busy she is with her two little girls and thought it might be more effective if I had her phone number and could let her know I may have someone who would love her Mother's dog.

PM please if you have Chery's phone #?
Thanks!

Happy Belated Birthday CR!

I was simply exhausted last night. I forgot to close up the chicken run. Left the door wide open. Now I'm terrified to head outside and check on the girls. DH is gonna do it for me in a few minutes. I suck. And I'm gonna be so upset if anything happened. I know it's unlikely that I've never seen a single predator and on the single night in the last 5 months that I forgot to close the door one came by, but I'm still scared. Can't bring myself to go out there though.

Everything OK?!?

YES!!! They're ok and Princess laid her first egg right as I went to check on them! Thanks forechecking on us <3 I'm at Renee's now but will chat later :)

So I went out to scoop the morning's poop. If I scoop it early in the morning, before they start rearranging their coop, all I have to scoop is 3 neat little piles. I discovered meal worms all over the coop mixed into the bedding. Then, I got to looking around. There are meal worms in the water bucket. Meal worms on the roof. Meal worms all over the ground around the coop.

Half the brand new bag is gone.

I just had a discussion with my daughter. She claims she didn't do it. She's blaming it on friends who were over last evening. Sigh! If only meal worms weren't so expensive. Now I get to try and rescue dried worms out of the water and see if the birds will still eat them.

Bummer! It could possibly be good to let the girls forage in the coop and clean up the mess for you. If they're dried, they shouldn't go bad, right?

Sorry Lisa...it seems it's always the favorites that turn out to be boys!
