Ive always thought of you as nice and never nasty.. Oh thank you for the you'd take the roo for me but I cant have him right now.. Im going crazy.
It seems like when I have a plan the animal dont think its a good plan and do something different. Like the doe that had a kid last week, what was that about. It was due the week before lol cute little thing. Oh I know I need to get pictures for chickenlady... I'll have to update my web site and let you see them there.

Than the hen who just hatced one egg two days ago, she's going to be where the rooster was going oh than that also leaves me to find a place for my BHB chicks that hatched a few months back...

My place is always dirty, with the dogs and cats and the goats and chickens and yes the boy who runs barefoot throught the pasture. I clean my floors a few times a day and it never seems clean...

Well I can move today and so Im heading outside to do more work..

My son and his bride come home late tonight. It'll be good to have them in the US again and to have him take his cat back lol..

And you are entertaining and imformative !
And I love the story of the twins bringing you dead critters!

My daughter had a cat when she was about 10 that always brought 'gifts' and shot up the stairs to place them delicately on her pillow...once a gopher, once a live albeit battered chipmunk...a few times live hummingbirds.
That cat kept us hopping !

to you too !
How are you all over the mountain ?
Hot ?
We here on the coast have had about 6 days of fog and 70 tops degrees.
So cool, I have had the heat lamp on in the babies coop even with broody momma.
They are getting too big for all 21 of them to fit under her.
It has been foggy enough that it drizzles here, and momma squats, spreads out and holds her wings up and still...there is too many babies

So they go indoors, so how is your weather ?

The house we just remodeled in California I had the guys do bamboo on the family room, solid...and the entire rest of the house I did linoleum, looked like stone.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy to walk through the house with a dust mop, and capture any bunny poop, hay, dog hair, etc.
Super easy to wet mop once a week.
And cool on a hot day, and impervious to dog nails.

I am so cold, I am almost thinking of heading east. I can almost contemplate visiting with the parental units. Wait I think turning up the heat would be way easier. Yes I think that isn't a bad solution.

We installed vinyl flooring the first time we re-did the floors, it didn't last 6 months, before it needed to be replaced. We have since gone though 2 brands of laminate flooring over the years. I think about slate, but I am not sure that I would love the look in the whole house. So I am leaning towards colored concrete and Mashad rugs. I am looking forward to not having dirty little puppies, so that the Mashad rugs can go back down. Every few months I buy a 20.00 rug to put down. I can then assess how well potty training coming along. I still am throwing out cheap rugs, so the expensive rugs wait still rolled up.

I really liked the bamboo flooring, but everyone said that it can't handle being wet. That stops me with flooring. I know that my floors get wet, and sometimes stay that way a little longer than they should. I need to admit that it a real condition in my home at times, rather than try to hide my head under the rugs that I don't have down on the floors.

It occurs that someone reading these posts could assume that my home is less than clean. While it will make a germ-a-phobic cringe. It is healthy and we don't spend much time ill from bacteria types of illnesses. I would probably describe thing as comfortable. Especially if you are a dog.

PS Dear God; I am very grateful that the twins dispatch the wee beasties outdoors, and that they don't feel the need to bring them indoors for my inspection, or have the need to share with the doggies. Amen!

CAN SOMEONE PROVIDE A HOME FOR THIS ROO???????

12 weeks ago, my family and I picked out 3 hens from the local feed store (RIR, Delaware, and Silver laced Wyndotte). This morning my wife and I were awakened to the teenage "crow" from one of our 3, ahem, hens. They are urban chickens (Kirkland, WA) and my neighbor will not tolerate the early morning crowing for very long. The Wyndotte rooster, Roxy (maybe Rocco would be more appropriate now) needs to find a good home. I'd like to find a home for him in which he will live out his days with a flock of chickens; meaning my wife would die if she thought there were any chance of him being raised for human consumption. . .she's bummed as it is since Roxy/Rocco was her favorite bird of the 3.

Roxy/Rocco is fairly tame. He doesn't necessarily care to be handled, but doesn't put up a fight once in hand. He seems to become more tame as each day goes by probably since I've been giving them so many treats lately.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks, Matt Stevens

We absolutely LOVE our Eureka vaccuum. We did a lot of research into getting a new vaccuum a couple years back and this is the one we chose: http://www.eureka.com/Capture-Pet-Lover-8806BVZ-upright-vacuum. It works great on carpets, rugs, and upholstery & good on bare floors. We couldn't be happier!

I killed my eureka years ago. It wasn't up to cleaning out the fireplace, and the bags were an on going cost. It was a great vacuum when it was new, but it cost 1700.00 back in the late 80's i can buy a lot of Dyson's for that.

justbugged. For future reference........... Ash and Drywall dust are two of the worse materials to put into a vacum that isn't equiped with the right filter for that. Cement dust same thing.
I've had clients in the past want to save a few bucks come clean up time and even after telling them not to use their regular vac they did anyways.
It is so tempting cause the drywall dust comes right up. But if your filter not made for it then into the motor it goes and goodbye vacum.

Fein puts out a great wet dry vacum. It has a 15 foot hose which saves you a lot of time moving the vac all over the place.
It is also the most quiet wet dry vac Ive ever heard with that amount of power.
A bit expensive for a wet dry vac but these things last for years and eat drywall dust and ashes right up no problem.
