I will have a little montage of everything. I made a bunch of chicken related things that I will have up for sale (coffee cup cozy's, chicken saddles, etc.). I will have my son and my 3 year old daughter with me thata day.

I called this little store in Portland, I've been trying to support and they were charging $7 for 1.5lbs. that sounded outrageous!

I'm all for supporting the little man but that's a ridiculous price. I pay $18 for a 50lb bag.

Now so do I.
Thank you so much for mentioning Ochard Feedstore. I didn't even know it was there and I've been driving to either Battle Ground, Ridgefield, St. John's, or Portland. That is now my store! Its so much closer to my house and just a cute little building, da boot!

Thanks Tiff!

Hey Washingtonians! In Sno County here. Anyone going to the Chicken show in Monroe Saturday? We are. Also, we're looking for a few Polish chicks, either 4-6 weeks old or newly hatched to 2 weeks old. If anyone knows of a breeder in Sno County or a breeder that could bring some chicks to the Monroe Show on the 21st I'd really enjoy that.

GRRRR!!!! Ok, so I need to vent!

I'm now working full time @ the new hospital in Gig Harbor. I've been trying to sell my eggs, which I've gotten a lot of interest in.... unfortunately one of my friends is a flake. A TOTAL FLAKE. If she stands me up today, that's it! I'm not doing business with her, AT ALL. It's rude, and I don't care if she's my friend or the Dali Lama. If you say you'll pick up something, DO IT.

Worse part? She's a stay at home mom with a side photography business of her own. So, if anyone should know the importance of time management in business transactions, it should be her, right? Besides, I posted rules on my page about no shows and that my personal relationship is second to my business relationship during deals. A mutual friend who was here the last time she did something like this even told her later that I've been having an issue with No Calls / No Shows and to be more considerate (which, I didn't tell her to do, but I'm glad she didn't inform her that SHE'S the only one who does this.). At least the last time I was home and able to call her frequently and bug the heck out of her... but 1: I shouldn't be expected to keep her on track. 2: Not only do I have a full time job now, but I'm also expected to keep running this house, and so my time really is precious. And 3: Is she daft? She couldn't connect the dots and go... "Hmm, perhaps she's getting frustrated with ME and I should make sure that the next time I order I be more considerate?"

Beyond that, she's the only one I made a deal with and said I'd trade them eggs for photography. Let me just say, if this is the way she is as a customer, I'm re-thinking about hiring her! Bad PR on her end. Oy.

My DH stuck around most of the day on Saturday because she was going to be there at 11 am (I was at my full-time job). I didn't get a call until after 8 last night telling me that she hasn't been anywhere because she's getting sick.

(BTW, I just got Bill Cosby's voice in my head saying, "Right!" Y'know, the skit about Noah and God?)

Ugh, I've been on Dayquil/Nyquil and throat drops for 2 weeks now and I've still gone to class and work and have worked around the house! I'm sure my DH would have dropped them off at her house while he ran errands. Furthermore, she is supposed to pick up on Saturday morning but doesn't call until Sunday night when I'm already in bed? Did she really think that was kosher? Really?!

As Michelle Tanner would say: "HOW RUDE!"

*deep breath*

Ok. Sorry. I just am under a lot of stress. I mean, with the economy, the new job, a friend in our group going totally psycho (and as such is no longer friends with most of us. Her choice.), and our septic system is acting up so I've been REALLY limited on water use which means that I'm getting creative in the clothing department LOL. But I truly am thinking about just telling her that I will no longer "sell" to her. I just can't depend on her and I have other (actually paying!) customers.

*sigh*
Anyone else pulling their hair out?

Sorry about that Selena, I'd just write her off buisness wise too. I'm pulling my hair out, but mine is because of this weather, don't know if I'm going to get my coop and run done in the next 2 weeks, my oldest birds are 5 wks old.

Selena,

Your friend

me.

Laura78,
That's OK. When I raised chicks a couple years ago. I thought they had to be full grown before going outside with the hens. I kept them in the den for about 6 months before I gave up.

OMG!

me again

Imp- feeling dumb and admitting it.

That's too funny. I'm just being protective and don't want them to get hurt or even think of them getting eatten. Heck if my house was big enough I'd probably set up a spare room for them and only let them out supervised, lol. Can you tell that I'm protective of my pets? I got some geese that I'm told are very aggressive with strangers and other animals just to protect my birds at all times.

*Sigh* Thanks.

Well, she first said she'd be here "sometime after 1" and then left a message saying that she'll be here between 1:30 and 2 today, to give me a better window of time. So, we'll see. I can tell you one thing, starting at 1:20 I'm going to be watching the road like a hawk!

If she's not here by, say, 3... I'm letting her know that I can't provider her with eggs anymore. We all know, eggs don't get any fresher! LOL.

Hey, different topic, do you think 1 mo. old birds will be ok in a rabbit hutch in the barn with a heat lamp over them? I've gotta get them out of what they're in, and I don't have our other dog kennel to put them in.
