I'm kinda worried about one of my girls now. I just went out to the coop to scoop poop off the shelf and there were *2* egg membranes on the shelf. No shell, no insides, just membranes, all dried up because they'd been there all day. They must have been dropped by one girl 2 nights in a row or 2 girls one night, because I just scooped the shelf on Tuesday. They were in different spots, though the girls aren't always in the same place each night so I guess that's no indicator that they are from different hens. I guess I just wonder why it happened because they've been laying efficiently and well, and I haven't had a single one of those for over 3 weeks, since before all of them started laying. I thought they were just evidence of someone gearing up to start, but now that they've all layed "real" eggs before, I wonder why it's happening. Any ideas?

don't worry too much -- stuff like that happens all the time.

Ok now I'm caught up AGAIN!!!!

So since I have read alot of posts, now I can't remember who was asking about the chicken diapers! I don't have any of those weird kind of birds but I do have wonderful, glorious, fabulous, beautiful DUCKS!!! 1 of my ducks (Daffy) wears a diaper quite often. She has had a diaper since she was 4 months old. She loves it, we love it!

If you are in the area (I'm in Bonney Lake and work in Kent) then I would be more than happy to bring her to come visit your father! She has been on many car rides and is very social! As many BYCers have learned the hard way! :gig

Just let me know!! :thumbsup

I just want a vegetarian or vegan cookbook that doesn't use onions in all the food. As far as I can tell, I may have be the person that writes the book in the end.

I hope you find a cookbook that is just recipes.

I "make" my own cookbooks by putting recipes I like in the photo albums that have clear sleeves...a big one for all the ones I print off the internet (with notes in the margins with my modifications), and a smaller one that holds the 3x5 cards that I've copied recipes from family members over the years onto. Best way I've found to keep them organized, and I know for a fact I like everything in them :D.
