I have a recipe for a raspberry crisp--that would surely work with blackberries, too...if you need more "ideas." All of my raspberries & blackberries that were FINALLY starting to produce berries burned up last summer...so this summer, they spent all of their "energy" regrowing.

I made chocolate chip scones tonight (my first-ever-attempt). They're not too bad, actually. One batch got a little burnt, but the second batch turned out perfectly cooked. I have another recipe for a bacon/cheddar scone I'm going to try this weekend....when I have time. I didn't want to cook the bacon while Audrey was asleep. LOL

Whew! What a long day, but it ended well with 2 new birds in my chicken yard. They're spending the night in the hutch with their own food/water since I'm not sure I can get out there first thing and referee any fights that might break out. Probably best for them to spend the night and morning separate, so that everyone can see each other without killing each other all morning. I'll let the existing girls out to free range after lunch and spend some time with the new girls in the coop and run then. Send us some "Good Integration" vibes tomorrow please!

Cooking bacon is the one thing that gets my kids out of bed when they sleep late, LOL! Probably smart thing not to cook it

Audrey's first pedi (thanks to the baby-sitter's daughter!)

Audrey mutton bustin'

Audrey walking more than just one or two steps!

How cute!! What fun that they let her try the mutton bustin' even though she's barely walking!

So adorable, love the pedi too! Jeanine's first pedi was around 13 months and she sat so intently in the grass in our front yard and let me paint her little tiny piggies; she just LOVED pointing out her toes after that. Miss those days...now she's a crazy emotional wild 4 year old...

Well, now I've done it...just bought myself an early birthday present...was going to spend $100 on some new boots...but instead, spent $200 on a pair of bantams.

Not a new breed, just a new color. I'm starting to get slightly addicted to Wyandotte bantams....hmmm....might need them in every color...must have more coops....hmmm....

Guess I need to move a few more breeds out here to make room for my newest additions...speaking of which, I think I have my Houdans sold, so that's good.
