Did you ask VF to plug the water in for ya? I bet he would have if ya woulda ask. (If you didn't)
Actually he offered , but I had to water the garden first, to use up some water out of the lower tank, before I could "down load" water from the tank up the hill.
It is not that hard to deal with, no pump turns out I just gotta open a valve & the water runs outta the upper tank to the lower tank.

After a long day at work I came home to find my Silkie roo (in my avatar) dead. I am not happy to say the least. What a craptastic way to end the day!

And the trainers don't even have the needles!
I have one of those "trainer" epi pens too...it still is scarey to practice with even though there is no needle in it.
So far, every time I have had a mild anaphalaxis episode, my doc said take Diphenhydramine, and I did, and it worked fine.
So I have never had to poke myself.

OK So at the risk of being thought crazy and possibly getting scolded (maybe I am and maybe I deserve it). Guess what I did this eve? Went and dare I say it....... captured a swarm of bees. Yup got a call and they were in a blue berry bush in somebodies yard. It was a matter of I put them in a box and bring home or they would die. It's too late in the year for any swarm to survive.
Also remember that a swarm tend to be very mellow. See (forgive my example but) a swarm of bees are very much like a homeless person. They have no possessions and nothing to defend. They are simply trying to survive and that is why a swarm of bees are so mellow. In the past I have actually captured with out suiting up and bare hands. That IS NOT a RISK I take now.
Did you spray sugar water on them first ?
The old bee guy in Elma had a spray bottle, and had sugar water in it.
He sprayed the swarm in my Dad's pear tree, and all the bees immediately began licking up the drops on their bodies...cooled & calmed them down and kept them busy while he scooped them up & dropped each scoop (a big ICEE paper cup) into a hive body.
Not 1 bee was agitated.

If she paid for that, she was cheated. You can't just cure someone's allergies unless you give them hookworm. But then, you've got creepy worms chewing up your intestines. I'm guessing that he didn't give her hookworms, so she was tricked.
I have heard some acupuncture will cure, or "calm down" the immunal system...but others have also told me that is BS.
There is no way I would get acupuncture & then eat gluten or any other thing I am allergic to, too scarey !

Ok so I just got a call my ride fell through again... he has a early morning teachers meeting for the music school.... he thought at noon but really at 10.....
I'll take your offer!

I promise some gas $ and?
I am hoping the metal cage which should be 4'x4'x4' panels can be disassembled so I can use the panel squares for my garden trellis!
like this:
That is cool !
I have also seen the same kinda thing down with 5-gallon buckets (or the boxes like I have) arranged about 6-10 feet apart, then a hoop of fence wire is made so you can walk beneath.
Sopports for the wire hoops can be wood, or T-posts.
I will see if I can find a pic.
Kinda like this, but used larger bukets & a drip system with compost teas....
I have the large long boxes so I could nail the wire to the boxes & be able to walk beneath...maybe next year.

Thank you to you and everyone else who offered their sympathies! It's been rough and I'm still so sad. I just got done having another good cry over her. We are still tyring to figure out what happened. I've gone all over the yard looking at our plants to see if any look toxic; I really need a good gardener who knows chicken-dangerous plants to come over and check out my yard because we have tons of berries and plants that could easily kill a chicken I think

I just don't know which ones to tear out. DH also had his deer target in the backyard; come to find out they've been eating pieces off of it; it's like a colored foam type full size deer target. I guess if she downed enough of that stinkin' deer that could have plugged her up or poisoned her.

Just to let you all know (for those who've asked), all my other birds are completely healthy including the 2 new arrivals from Honey last Monday. I let them out for one hour last night while I babysat them, but didn't allow them across the creek to the bee area, or the garden where there's some new blooming plants. DH and I are planning to get the whole mess of the backyard cleaned up next Saturday (move all the crap to the gate side/driveway side), and the next weekend we'll make a dump run with it all. That should put my mind at ease a bit more too, since there's a lot of crap back there that is potentially dangerous to kids/chickens.
