Flyingmonkeypoop, sorry to hear that you have to move. Or maybe it is a good thing? Do you have somewhere to roost in Spokane? It is cold there this time of year for sure. Hope you can get some new birds once your established in your own "people coop". Keep us posted of your move and when you end up there.

I'd like to be on your list for Sumatra eggs next spring. I need to add some new blood to my flock.

I'm in Tacoma and I have a hen that's currently being VERY broody right now. Maybe she can hatch some eggs for you?

Got yourself a broody cochin, huh MicMoo? We;re hoping that our banty cochin will accept and raise the chicks we're getting at the end of Feb. She's our flock's loner and we'd love to see her integrated with at least a couple other birds. She roosts alone... poor chilly girl!

MicMoo, thanks! However, I was hoping to use an incubator for these. I want to make sure these hatch this time, as my broodies failed me last year (though they did give me some guineas, it was only a 50% hatch.). I'm getting some wheaten marans and really want to hatch out all the eggs.

Since I'm only getting 6 eggs, I want as many hatching as I can.

Maddhatter: Thank you for your offer! I did have someone at church offer to let me use theirs today, however if yours have an automatic turner I probably should take you up on your offer. I don't trust myself to remember to turn. Perhaps you can PM me and let me know? Thanks again!

Thanks again Maddhatter!

Ok folks, so my parents offered me their white silky roo, and as beautiful as he is... I have 6 roosters already (half of which are his kids). Don't need another. He's not show quality from what I understand (something about not having the right number of toes?), but she wants him to go to a good home. She's in the Spokane area. She's going to send me pics (hopefully) soon. He's 2 years old.

Anyone interested?

Two days and no one has anything to post? Wow!

So, I'm trying to decide what to so with some of my extra roosters. They're not really big enough to make it worth the work of processing them right now, but we're going to be dividing the flock into smaller groups and there will be way too many roos per hen then for the hen's safety. They're pretty too, not purebred, but they are a golden color with coppery accents. Most look just like their papa. Does anyone want one for their flock? I'd keep them all if I could, as I love their color. Besides, I'm getting Welsummers, Wheaton Marans, Narragansett turkeys, and Khaki Campbell ducks soon and need to start making more room!
