I was going to get one of those babies, lol. I ended up getting a dozen eggs to hatch from her though, she thinks one is a splash frizzle, so I'm happy. I left with 2 Maran chicks and a Porcelain hen.

Guess it's a good think I didn't ask for one of your show birds, lol. But once my run and coop are complete I will take one of your non show quality birds.

This was my first show, and I must say it went FAST!!! I needed more time to meet some of you in person I was there and ended up meeting a couple of ya' ( sold the Marans-Chicks) but was hoping to talk to a bunch more people. I get to caught up in my research. Sorry my fault I'm a gabber when it comes to chickens. GOOD to hear that there was more than five of us down there though.
Talk to ya' soon

Charlie got a 1st with one of his White Wyandotte Cockerals, and a third with the other. His Silkie hen got a 1st and Best of Variety as well! We were very excited. I ended up coming home with a Pair of Cochins, a blue frizzle roo, and a smooth back hen. We also got a little Old English Spangled roo as well! Now.... off to build my coop..lol!

Hi Laura,

Yes, I'm glad you didn't ask! Thankfully I was able to bring one bird home with me.

I just wanted to say it was nice meeting you and the hubby. I wish we would've had more time to just chat. It turned into a very hectic day but it was a terrific show.

Just let me know when you're ready for a Welsummer or two.

God Bless,

We're new to BYC.
We are from Maltby (between Woodinville/Snohomish/Monroe).
We posted our intro in the Intro thread but just had to post here too

We have read this whole thread starting several days ago. Wish we would have started at the end and saw how many of you were going to the Cascade show in Monroe. We probably saw and maybe talked to some of you since our whole family was there.

Hi Uplate,

When I first saw the Washingtonians discussion, I read the whole thing too! Now I just tell the new folks to go to the end and introduce themselves. This discussion has turned out to be quite the lengthy one! LOL

I hope I met you at the show. I was the guy in the bright blue Cabelas jacket with the WBS Ameraucanas, Welsummers, Khaki Campbells, Swedish Blue, and Pekin.

I really wanted to meet as many folks from BYC as I could and I think I probably did not do a very good job of that. It was a very busy day!

If we didn't meet, I hope to next time.

God Bless,

Those birds act like they've never seen a dog? Our poor LGD has been running between the isolation coop & my regular coop/pens to "check" on everything and the birds have been freaking when he comes up! They seem to have settled down a little bit and the hen actually was "talking" to me yesterday when I was out there feeding. They did have a bit of a cold/raspiness so they are also on antibiotics, but I don't think it's anything too serious since they are eating/drinking/pooping just fine. The rooster also just started to crow and it's almost a bantam-like crow! LOL

Are there any more shows relatively close by, anytime soon? I kind of liked going...although I added another breed to my flock!

Since our water pump in the well got fried this weekend (brand new pump in 2006)--my coop project (tripling its' size) has been reduced to doubling the size.

This means I cannot take on any more breeds and I even have to reduce what I have already.

Because I've got these Creves now, my BBS Orps must go. And because I am working on the white faced white spanish, my lemon blue cochins must go...along with my Porcelains, Light Brahmas, a few Sumatras, etc.

If anyone is interested, please PM me. I will be flexible on the price and I will accept non-live trades (incubators, coops, etc).

I will be in Wenatchee on April 10th and could transport birds there at that time.
