Right now Del's is having customer appreciation days. I got a card in the mail for 10% off of my purchase. If you sign up for their email promotions they'll email you a five dollar off coupon. Off to go get more oyster shell and layer feed.

Sorry to hear about your weekend. For what it's worth, I have no doubt there are many of us on here that can truly sympathize with you. I'd encourage you to not give up. Just try to learn from any mistakes that you may have made - and you may not have made any. I'd suggest doing some more research on your incubator. Find others who have the same one. Ask questions and then ask more questions. See if you can uncover a pattern.

There are bound to be some things that will happen for which there just will be no answers. At least you didn't pull a boneheaded move like I did when I tossed out over a dozen good developing eggs because I got them mixed up with another tray that was hatching. There are many more pitiful stories I could tell but rather will just say that I've made my mistakes and just try not to repeat them.

God Bless,

Thanks for info about prices. Headed to Del's on Friday to stock up then on layer feed and oyster.

BTW..........

Whom ever it was that mentioned Winco up in Marysville this was the second time we've gone there.
Love the bins there.
Right next to the bins they have Mills Bros Specialty seed 25 lb Birders Deli Court for $8.49 or something like that.
I know it's under $9.00

I've bought this type of seed at Walmart and right now Tru Value has it on sale which beats Walmart price but this regular priced seed beats them both.

I love to use this as treats and getting them back in their run when we need to take off or when they get to close to the road.

Thank you so much for the encouraging words Royce. There were things I learned for sure, and I am sure there will be new things to learn yet. And just to top off this weekend one of the Salmon Faverolle chicks just died. I have no idea why. The chicks in that pen have been doing really well and are eating starter feed with antibiotics, and I had cleaned the pen really well yesterday. The first I knew that the chick wasn't feeling well was less than 1/2 hour before it died. I am now praying that nobody else is sick. They all look healthy right now. The new chicks seem to be thriving. I was really worried about the 2 smaller chicks, but they seem to be getting stronger. So guess I need to count my blessings, and lets hope this is the last of the bad news for a long while.

I finally made it to Del's today. I am so glad that I did. I filled the trunk with feed and misc for under $70. The Chicken starter was about $9. That is nearly half what I had been paying close to home. One trip 10 more miles to the west, and I am stocked for 3 months. The only thing I forgot to buy was chick grit. So I guess I will be straining the small stuff out through my colander for a bit longer. Boy that #2 is sure big.

HI ALL !!
I'm new here too! It will be nice to talk to folks that are local. instead of on the east coast or mid-west. I have a little flock of nine. Two RIR,two golden sexlinks, two white leg horns, one Calif. white one barred rock and one barred rock rooster. oh and two magpie ducks (drakes).
I'm not expecting eggs till the middle of Oct. my girls will be 20 wks on Oct 4th. I have lots of questions especially with winter coming But the questions will have to wait. I work graveyard and its bed time for me.

excel and KMHunter I'm close to you. I'm just off the woodinville -Duvall road. you know where the White stallion statute is? I'm down that road about two miles

Hey y'all, the prices you've been talking about - are those for 50# bags? If so, that's about half of what I pay at the Co-Op. Might just be worth a trip to Snohomish or Monroe if they have the same prices at their Dels.

God Bless,

My prices were for 50 pounders.... Sale prices though. Layer is regularly 12 and oyster shell a dollar or two more than I posted. i'm probably going to have DH pic up another bag or two of layer on Saturday.

Regular price is about $10 or less for all of their 50# bags of chicken feed.

10% off right now. I wish they had some Organic, and/or non-soy based feeds. But for now the price has to be part of the consideration. I am supplementing with Organic Rye Berries and some Organic Feed when I can lay my hands on it.

Just got my Del's ad in the mail today. Showed the Wife and we are planning to stock up. Probably pick up a few more bags of shavings also.
I'll try to remember to stop in at Rocking Feeds in Duvall and ask them if they ever do chicken feed sales.
Very strange as I never have got any ads from them.
